Nayan organised a wonderful homestay for us with Passang Blon and his family. We had the best time with them. The family were so kind and generous. The room was clean, comfortable with attached toilet and shower. We had everything we needed. They organised for us to visit the local Makaibari tea factory and guided tour of the tea gardens. The family made very tasty meals for us, freshly prepared using local and organically grown ingredients. The vegetables came from their own garden. Passang even shared a very nice local honey with me which I could not get enough of. Freshly brewed local tea was available as many times as we wanted. We had fantastic views of the Makaibari tea estate and the hills beyond from our room. We stargazed from the rooftop, watched beautiful sunrise and sunset. Walking around Kurseong was great training for trekking. Passang’s cousin drove us in the hills which were filled with very tall pine trees and stunning views was something magical. I will never forget the time spent with these beautiful people in this beautiful place. I highly recommend it.
