Zanzoo Getaway is a rural/residential property, nestled amongst the rainforest, only 3 minutes drive from the iconic Crystal Cascades waterfall and 25 minutes from Cairns City. We have many domestic & wild animals on our property. We are surrounded by mountains and a beautiful swimming hole, which is a short walk from our house. Zanzoo Retreat is the perfect spot for a picturesque nature getaway which is not far from all the popular tourist attractions. You will need a car to get around though! Our property feels like a farm while still being residential, only 25 minutes drive from the city. The same river which creates Crystal Cascades waterfall runs behind our house, with a semi-private swimming hole. We are also visited by many native birds including Kookaburras, Kingfishers, Plovers, Curlews & Sulphur-crested cockatoos

Lovely location in quiet, safe area. Well equipped accomodation with everything you need for a comfortable holiday. Easy drive to local shops and Crystal Cascades. Friendly and accommodating hosts.
We had a wonderful stay. Trudy was very accommodating and helpful. Highly recommended.
Nice tidy accommodation with plenty of space to park cars and trailers if you need it. Little bit far out from centre of Cairns but good road access. Only 1km to Crystal Cascades swimming holes which are worth a visit.
Trudy and Michael were terrific hosts. Lovely spot and the accommodation was very clean and comfortable
Large clean space with air conditioning in every room (a must have for us Wisconsinites!). Trudy and Michael were responsive and helpful. The location was amazing-in the rainforest a short walk from the river and a swimming hole. The ducks, turkeys, and pupper were happy to see us-especially for treats! Will definitely consider staying again next time we find ourselves in Cairns.

Everyone in our street owns acreage properties. There is very little traffic, so it is peaceful & quiet (apart from the birds!) We don't even have street lights! Our neighbours are VERY friendly, and often pop in for a visit, joining us for a social drink (or twenty!)
Although we are only 25 minutes from Cairns City, there are no shops nearby nor any public transport. It will also cost around $50 one-way for a taxi to Cairns City. We recommend hiring a car.

We are Australian born with European parents, Trudy's being German & Michael's being Italian. Michael owns a tiling business from home, and you will see his workers come & go early in the mornings. Trudy is a medical sales representative, sometimes working away from home. Michael & Trudy have a 13 year old daughter Bettina, who loves animals
