This is a low key area with mostly local Thais, and not geared towards international tourism. There is limited public transportation, nightlife, and shopping options near the resort. In short, if you want to live like a Thai you will love it! And you will quickly fall into relaxing holiday mode.
There are many Thai food restaurants along side the beach, with fresh fish and seafood, caught by the local fishermen.
You can explore the national park using the excellent nature walking trails, visit the turtle sanctuary, swim, see the sundown on the beach, and take bike trips around the area. For example, take a dip in the water falls and bring some lunch to eat.
You can shop at 7 Eleven/Tesco Lotus and local Thai shops in town, or the local fresh markets. There are small Thai nightly open shops near the resort where you can buy coffee, beer, water, chocolate, snacks and cakes.
You can also make day trips on motorbike to Phuket and Phang Nga Bay, with the famous lime stone mountains and “James Bond” Island.
In Phang Nga city we recommend Wat Tham Ta Pan Temple, where there is a big cave, and an interesting Buddhist interpretation of hell, that you enter via a dragon head.

It is possible to rent motorbikes for longer trips around the area, or even to Phuket (1,5 hour - beware of the traffic - for experienced drivers), or Khao Lak (40 min.) or Phang Nga (40 min.). All our guests will get free bicycles as the area is perfect for biking and quite secluded.
Transfers
Bus:
You can take a bus to Thai Mueang and we will pick you up at the 7/11 for free. There is only one 7/11 so you can not miss it. The buses run all day from Phuket direction until around 8 PM.
From Phuket airport you can take a taxi or the bus (50 baht) up to the main road and catch the bus. Get off the airport bus at the Phra Nang Sang Temple (Wat Phra Nang Sang in Thai). Go to the other side of the street to the bus stop, as you are going in the other direction! The bus will not say “Thai Mueang” but eg. “Khao Lak”, “Takua Pa” or "Chumpon". Anywhere you stop in Thai Mueang will not have more than a 1-200 m. walk to 7/11.
Call us in good time for pick up, but also notice us your approx. time at booking, or the day before.
Pick up:
We have an airport pick up option subject to availability. Please make an non-binding request at time of booking. But you can also take a taxi yourself and probably cheaper.
Stay at least 7 days and transfer from Khok Kloy bus station is free for 4 persons. The station is ca. 20 min. by bus from the airport.
