圣安德鲁斯 · 整套联排别墅 · 3室3床2.0卫 · 可住6人 · St. Andrews Luxury Townhouse - mins to Old Course
The Townhouse house is a supremely comfortable and modernised home 3 minutes from the Old Course, beaches, castle and the ancient medieval heart of St Andrews. It makes a fabulous hub for exploring, sporting activities or simply relaxing. At one end of its location lies the ruins of one of Europe’s largest medieval structures - at the other is the world famous Old Course. In between, is one of the world’s oldest universities, the 3rd oldest English-speaking University in the world. 112 North Street is listed by the Scottish Government for its architectural merit and significance. Despite its antiquity, it has been fully and extensively modernised and has evolved into a supremely comfortable and contemporary home. One of its added joys - is location. It is 3 minutes’ stroll from the Old Course and the beaches. And, although quietly situated, it is just a few minutes’ stroll from all of St Andrew's vibrant restaurants and shops and medieval heart. The house has recently undergone a further substantial renovation and reconfiguration. Detailed planning permission and building control approvals were gained for substantial works after detailed conversations with planners and building inspectors in the local authority. This allowed us to remove the awkwardly sited 1970's staircase and thus allow for the creating of two new strikingly modern bathroom facilities - one each on the first and second floor - and a new first floor sitting room. Both bathrooms have brand new walk-in showers of the highest quality coupled to Hansgrohe fittings and Duravit ceramics etc. The central heating system was also completely replaced. It now centres upon a new Bosch Worcester System boiler coupled to an unvented cylinder. In addition to copious hot water availability, each bathroom hot water supply has an independent access to this system - thus pressure high shower is maintained regardless of the number of simultaneous users. New carpets from Crucial Trading are installed throughout; matched to new paint schemes from Farrow and Ball. The house is on 3 levels and features original pictures and objects' d'art throughout. All its facilities - from its German Alno kitchen to Poltrona Frau furniture are of the highest quality. It has its own private garden and barbeque space completely privatised by a bespoke cedar fence. This can also be reached via a private passageway as well as directly from the house. The garden has been professionally landscaped by award winning Assist Architects and is well stocked with many plants and herbs – quite a few from the remarkable St Andrews Botanic Gardens. Its position means it captures the sun all day and often (this is Scotland after all) becomes a cosy sun trap. Within, the house is a large, spacious and airy family home. Its lounge extends the full length of the house and adjoins the sunny and open kitchen extension at the rear. This room has an elegant and contemporary dining table and chairs, coupled with a deeply sprung Poltrona Frau Cassiopeia sofa and chaise longue. A large Sony LED intelligent TV (wired for casting from iPad and iPhone) compliments the room. In addition, it features an award-winning connected sound system from Ruark and an Amazon Echo if you want to request your musical choices from Alexa. The house too is fully connected; its broadband is the optimal fibre optic service is extremely fast and reliable. The large first-floor double bedroom overlooks the town centre and the many leafy gardens to the rear of the old houses in North Street. It, like all the rooms in the house benefit, from brand-new double-glazed windows. Indeed, all the sash windows were built by an award-winning local joiner, approved by the highly vigilant Conservation planner serving the town. They elegantly replicated the faithful 200-year-old units that had sadly reached the end of their useful life. All the remaining windows were built in Denmark - (perhaps an unintended architectural nod to the abundant Scandinavian ((Viking)) influences on the auld Toon, e.g. derivative of the meaning of The Scores. This floor also houses a contemporary fully tiled bathroom and sophisticated lightning with shower fed by the powerful Bosch Worcester boiler. Its floor is underheated and is combined with a towel radiator from Bisque. This floor also houses a new sitting area with a sofa and sofa overlooking the medieval University college buildings and its striking more contemporary library. Laundry facilities with separate Miele washer and dryer are found on this floor. On the top floor, accessed via a spacious new staircase, is an additional large double bedroom with two huge double-glazed Velux windows creating a location that is quiet and restful but bright and sunny too. It also has a connected sound system and radio from Ruark and a streaming TV box from Sky with independent controls. Can accept Bluetooth feeds from any wi-fi enabled device, thus allowing the users own streamed music or film to be played with quality and depth. On this floor too, facing the 16th century tower of St Salvators, is a newly extended bedroom with new double bed and handmade Harris tweed individually cushioned headboard. This room, despite its modest size, benefits from built wardrobe and storage facilities. It is equipped with a Sony LCD TV with a Firefox media input device. Again, it is complemented by two exceptionally large velux windows with comprehensive duo blackout blinds. Both rooms are adjacent to the new bathroom, similar in design and quality to that downstairs and again equipped with a sophisticated underfloor heating system with Warm-up. Considerable attention has been given to comprehensively improving the lighting system in all areas of the house, with very high-quality units and controls from Legrand and Baco throughout.
We had a wonderful weekend in St Andrews, helped greatly by the excellent accommodation. As a party of six, all our needs were catered for and the central location meant we were within easy walking distance of all the local attractions. I would highly recommend the accommodation for anyone looking to stay in St Andrews.
Linda’s place was absolutely perfect for a mixed group of golfers and non-golfers alike. Could not have been a better location, and the place was clean, new/refreshed, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Linda was also incredibly helpful and responsive on a few questions in the lead-up to our stay, as well as after the fact with an item that our group mistakenly left behind. Highly recommend for your next trip to St Andrews!
Une magnifique maison nichée au coeur de St Andrews. 3 splendides chambres et 2 salles de bains. Un salon très confortable. Nous avons passé un merveilleux séjour et bien profité de la terrasse grace à un merveilleux temps écossais.
The house is in the heart of one of the best preserved and architecturally intact small medieval cities - anywhere. Golf is clearly one of its most powerful attractions. so too are the numerous galleries and museums and stylish private art salesrooms.
The number of beaches - their scale and pristine beauty - are unmatched. Close by are many unspoiled and utterly charming small fishing villages - Crail, Anstruther, Pittenweem, St Monans, Elie etc
Good, varied restaurants and cafes abound. Similarly, great cosy pubs and plentiful - all are within ambling distance...
The property is in a central location in one of Europe's most attractive and appealing ancient towns . It is extremely easy to reach on foot most of St Andrews's attractions.
Notwithstanding, parking is available right outside the front door - though metered at peak times. This allows for the easy transfer of guests and luggage.
However, further along North Street and in many adjacent streets (including the parallel Scores) extended and unfettered free parking is readily available.
