My mom and I stayed 5 days in Apt #2. If you want to be immersed in small town Italy, this is it! The apt has a great location close to everything. As we walked outside one night, we were able to see a wedding come out of the beautiful cathedral right across the street. With the heat wave in Italy, this TX girl appreciated an excellent running air conditioning and clothes washer. It was helpful to have a separate living space from the bedroom. If one of us slept later or took a nap, it was nice just to shut the bedroom door so not to disturb someone trying to rest. The kitchen is the perfect size for local food shopping and staying in to eat. Ortona is a fabulous wine region so just buying a local bottle of wine, cheese, meat and homemade bread that can eaten in air conditioning on a hot day was nice. Lucia offered to pick us up from the Ortona train station and other places. When we left she drove us with our luggage to where my daughter was staying. Lucia checked in regularly to make sure we were comfortable. Upon checking out, she gave us a lovely note and souvenir to remember our visit. If I come back next summer, this is where I will stay - location, amenities and size of apt are probably the best in Ortona.
