A 1955 cottage recently updated by a designer-by-trade, this space is made for those wanting to cozy up in a creative space in the city. Within a 9-minute drive or less of Springfield's best coffee shops, restaurants and attractions, you also won't get bored in this location. The house is a cozy 919 square feet with a living room, kitchen, full bathroom, two bedrooms, half bathroom, laundry room and workspace. The house is on a 1/4 acre of land with a backyard patio, grass and lively foliage. The living room is set with a comfy Six Penny couch, lounge chairs and a wood burning fireplace. Our personal collection of glassware, candlestick holders and floral vessels is on display in a vintage letter cabinet. The main bedroom has a queen bed with a memory foam mattress, cotton sheets, and linen bedspread, and a big screen Roku TV. The second bedroom has a full bed with a memory foam mattress, cotton sheets, and linen bedspread. Both bedrooms have their own dresser, closet and 2 nightstands. The kitchen is fully equipped with an original-to-the-home 1955 electric oven and stove - in perfect working condition! Keep in mind, this does run hotter than your modern stove/oven - adding to it's charm. There's a brand new retro fridge and freezer combo. For your morning coffee, you have the option to use a Kuerig or Chemex with the kettle. We provide Kuerig pods and chemex filters for your stay. If you’d like to use the Chemex, please bring your own ground coffee. There is a custom-built banquette dining area to enjoy all of your meals that sits 4-6 people. All of our dishware is beautifully curated. The full bathroom has a bath and shower combo, toilet, a custom-made vanity from vintage post office boxes, and a built-in mirror. It is stocked with local bath products, 100% cotton towels and a blow dryer. The backroom serves as a laundry room and a dedicated workspace. In one corner there is a washer and dryer. In the other corner is a built in desk with a stool and lamp. The backyard has a patio with a dining table made from recycled wood and 8 chairs. We've mindfully decorated our home with collected art and oddities from our travels and scouring of local flea markets. We hope you'll feel inspired during your stay to create, whether that be to read, write, draw, make music, have good conversation, rest or whatever your body needs. We're artists ourselves and created a space that we feel at ease and inspired within. We are within a couple blocks of Mercy Hospital so our space is also an ideal long term stay for traveling nurses and medical workers.
