ENGLISH: I'm a British retired teacher, translator and holiday property owner. I love reading, listening to music,city walks and exhibitions, travelling and meeting new people - oh, and eating out; in fact, I have breakfast in a bar every single day; it's one of the great pleasures of life here. I've been living in Jerez for over 30 years: I originally planned to spend just a year and then go back to teaching in the UK, so that's how much I like it! I bought my holiday apartment when our family home in England was sold, and decided to do holiday rentals. I had no idea of the satisfaction this little business would bring: I've received people from all walks of life and many different countries, from Finnish triathletes to South African golfers and even Italian opera singers, as well as students of flamenco and lots of teachers. Many of them have returned and have remained friends. My idea of good holiday accommodation is a place where people can feel comfortable and at home, so I try to provide the little things that make all the difference. For me, a holiday apartment shouldn't be like a hotel, it should offer a more personal touch. When we travel, we still enjoy staying in hotels for a day or two, but for longer stays I prefer an apartment or a B&B, and we've been lucky enough to find some great places - and some good ideas to copy! Me encanta leer, escuchar música,pasear por la ciudad, ver exposiciones y conocer a gente nueva - y comer en bares y restaurantes. De hecho, desayuno en un bar todos los días - es uno de los placeres de la vida aquí. Llevo más de 30 años aquí: vine para pasar un año pero Jerez me gustó tanto que decidí quedarme. También conocí a un jerezano que tuvo algo que ver! Compre este apartamento al vender nuestra casa familiar en Inglaterra y empecé con los alquileres vacacionales. No me imaginaba cuánta satisfacción me iba a dar esta empresa: he recibido a gente de todas clases y de muchas nacionalidades - desde triatletas fineses hasta golfistas sudafricanos e incluso cantantes de ópera italianas, con bebé incluído! Todas estas personas han aportado algo nuevo a mi vida y muchos han vuelto varias veces, que es el mayor cumplido que puede recibir un/a propietari@. Para mi, un buen alojamiento es un lugar dónde la gente pueda sentirse cómoda y en su casa, así que intento proporcionar esas pequeñas cosas que hacen que la estancia sea así. Un apartamento no tiene que ser como un hotel: debe ofrecer un trato más personal y , como propietaria, estoy accesible para cualquier consulta. Cuando viajo, todavía disfruto de los hoteles para estancias de un día o dos, pero para estancias más largas me gusta un apartamento o un "bed and breakfast" que ofrecen algo más que una habitación - y hemos tenido la suerte de encontrar unos lugares maravillosos.
