This was the perfect home and perfect neighbor hood to stay in San Miguel. I hate to let the cat out of the bag because everyone will want to flock here. 3 amazing cafes within 1 block of the home. Bohemian vibe like old East village New York. Convenient to all things you want to do yet away from the most packed center areas. Laura’s home was a perfect retreat to come back to after a busy day of walking the streets in the heat of the day. Nice details and touches to make you comfortable and at home. But you are not in a silent area there’s a frequent background ambience of a typical Mexican town. Music, dogs, people celebrating in the background, fireworks…!
Laura has a lovely space. Each room felt warm and comfortable. It’s tastefully appointed and well equipped. We both worked from the space during our time. The WiFi was strong and we each found a quiet space to work from. I personally appreciated the good water pressure and great shower. The bedding is high quality and very comfortable, good pillows are a plus for me. Guadalupe is a charming colonial, this home is near two markets , two coffee shops, a delightful deli and a fun corner sports bar that reminds you of cheers. The location is perfect. The walk to the central is flat and easy as is Fabrica Aurora. You’re also steps from the artisan markets. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. It felt like home. Thank you Laura for providing such a warm and cozy home for our SMA stay.
Laura' place was our sanctuary in our favorite neighbourhood in SMA. Every day we walked three doors down and sat in a tiny cafe (Sucre) and chatted for hours with folks who live in the area. Her house is truly a home and you can feel it. All the very thoughtful personal touches and incredible art. If we came back to SMA, which we hope to do, the first thing we will do will see if her place is available. It may be the deciding factor of whether we make the trip. Not only that but Laura was very helpful; never once did we feel stranded because we knew Laura or her housekeeer, or house manager would help us if we needed anything at all. It was unseasonably cold and rainy when we visited from mid-november to mid-december and Laura's home has some lovely gas stoves to warm up by. We used her kitchen daily, and loved having a gas stove to cook. Book her home it if you love the idea of a perfect oasis in (arguably) the best neighbourhood — and is an easy ten minute walk to centro
We can't say enough of Laura's home, Prefect location, very clean, [ A MUST] secure, beautifully decorated. Laura communicated with us promptly. Thank you Laura
It is not possible to overstate how outstanding Laura's Casa Sarita is for your stay in San Miguel! Casa Sarita feels like your home from the time you walk in the front door. You are greeted by the beautiful and peaceful courtyard and fountain ..... the centerpiece of beauty and tranquility of the home, with a view to all rooms. The most important features of any long term stay are the bed, water pressure in the shower, quantity of hot water, heating/AC and the internet! All of these features get 5-star ratings!! The furnishings are comfortable, and the kitchen is fully appointed, possibly better than yours would be at your home. The neighborhood includes extremely convenient grocery stores and several restaurants, and even Kenny's Sports Bar! Easy access to the heart of the city by walking or cheap Uber fares. Lastly, communications with Laura are always extremely prompt and responsive, supplemented by her support team in SMA. You feel like a valued guest in her home.
Location is everything! Guadalupe is one of the most desirable colonias in San Miguel due to its proximity to the historic center, level walking and street parking. The neighborhood features a mix of ex-pats, Mexican families, and resident artists. It is also known for its many street murals, cafes and restaurants.
Bus service is just around the corner and as of this writing (2024) costs just 8 pesos to get anywhere in town. Also taxis are plentiful and inexpensive.
自我介绍
Now retired, I split my time between the U.S. and Mexico. In San Miguel I volunteer as a TEFL teacher and in North Carolina I work with a service dog organization. Having been both "host" and "guest,” I understand what it means as a guest to respect other people’s property and as a host to provide a comfortable and safe environment for visitors.
