The renovation of the old winery gave birth to two beautiful independent suites (Bue Maria and Gorongosa) and a leisure area (Sala da Adega). Another independent and stylish suite located next to the Winery, named after the family’s Mozambican heritage, and also consisting of a good sized bedroom and a bathroom. Both the Bue Maria and the Gorongosa suites share a large and elegant guest area including a lounge with dining-room and kitchen. All of our houses have fully equipped kitchens whe... Vumba's property is divided into 2 cozy guesthouses (The Alembic and The House of the Lizard) and 3 stylish suites (The Bue Maria, The Gorongoza and Beira). All guesthouses have access to a large swimming pool surrounded by a lush garden. The bathing season (pool) opens on May 15th and closes on September 30th. Vumba is a small, family owned company, engaged in maintaining traditions and providing a highly professional and personalized service. We produce the organic cheese "Quinta do Carapinhal" following ancient traditions and provide quality accomodation in a rural environment. Vumba’s logo is a leaf of an oak, a deciduous tree with a long gestation period, that always did well in this region. The oak symbolizes our respect for tradition and continuity as well as renewal. In fact, Vumba is highly influenced by our grandparents’ memory, by their love for this land and by all the great things they’ve done. We make our best to respect and honor this memory in everything we do. Vumba Agrotourism has also the following activities available (depending on the time of year and the availability of our staff): Goat Safari, Chesse factory tour, Shepherd for a day, Make your own cheese, Foraging for mushrooms, Olive picking and E-bike rentals. And more, You can also get some fresh eggs for your breakfast from the chicken coop, pick some organic veggies from the vegetable garden or fresh fruit from the orchard to use in your meals while at Vumba. In the property, we have 3 great hiking and biking trails that take you through the woods and the valley. If you fancy a special treat, we can organize a true gourmet experience at the Winery with Oliver, our guest chef, cooking specially for you a menu of delicious recipes made with local produce. We visited Vumba in golden octobre and had a little summer - it is a paradise where you can rest at and in the pool, have sundown meals outside...sunset breakfast as well... take long walks in the woods, visit the farm and make friends with lovely sheep and goats - taste delicious yoghurt and cheese, even fresh tasty eggs and fruits or vegetables or discover cities as Aveira, Coimbra and Porto - or look for the river beaches, kajak tours, bike tours and see shisto villages...we loooove to come back soon - also because the people are so warm hearted and let us feel welcome as family - if you are open for it...if you need privacy is possible and respected too - we also love the basic practical decorations in the houses inspired by africa - fresh flowers, candles, solar lights given a special touch... very good discovery , thankfull and delighted we left

we loved staying at Vumba, in both places the little house and the suite!! everything was awesome: the hospitality, the decoration, views, swimming pool...everything!! we love come to be back, fingers crossed for next year! thank you for everything!!

We stayed in Vumba for 4 nights and had our hearts pleading once we had to leave. This place is beyond amazing when you're looking for a calm, easy-going yet hip experience. Definitely recommend profiting from the daily farm life by getting hands on milking sheep (!) watching animals and learning about cheese production. The farm's fresh and matured cheese taste as tender, as it could get and Joana was ever so generous to provide it to us as soon we run out. We truly loved Joana, her family and staff for their genuine care and joyful attitude! They also had a very helpful list of sights and restos nearby.

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour avec nos trois enfants (suite gorongosa et bue-maria). Le gite est spacieux et confortable et Joana est sympathique, disponible et de bon conseil. Nous avons pu également profiter des produits de la ferme (oeufs, légumes du potager), du pain fourni chaque matin et même cueillir quelques fruits de la passion! La cuisine commune est très bien équipée, les repas se prennent dans l'espace commun (salon wifi) ou en extérieur s'il ne fait pas trop chaud ! La propriété est immense et permet de belle balades en forêt avant se rafraichir dans la grande piscine. A noter que ce lieu est à 35 mn de Coimbra.
