Our Bed & Breakfast!!! It's a typical old home. It's been in the family for around 60 years. If you're traveling alone or if you are looking for a family feel, you'll find us at Mendes Homestay. In the heart of Praia is right in the capital center, Plateau. There are many places of interest, just footsteps away. You'll find info. here about breakfast, tours/experiences, pick-up/drop-off, etc. The home amenities are basic, but all the essentials are here. It is a safe and pleasant location. The room is as small as its name, but very cosy when the "winter" starts. It has a full-sized bed, a wall fan, a small desk, and a chair. Let us know about Breakfast in advance or when checking in. We offer some services, please check out our hall board and head to our green countryside-style terrace and enjoy a cold beer or a hot tea :) The terrace is also the place where we serve breakfast and socialize. If you need anything we will gladly help you. We have fast WIFI and hot water. The house has 3 more extra rooms for guests. If looking for space for 12, we have extra rooms, and a dormitory. Please check out our other listing! We have an extra room at our place and rent the whole apartment when we are away. Also a Room in an apartment in Maio.

Logement parfaitement situé, avec un charme inégalable. Hôte très gentille et à l’écoute. J’ai passé ma seconde nuit dans un hôtel 3 etoiles par le travail, et le logement de Suelly & Ildo était incontestablement mieux :) Recommande à 100% !
Virkelig en god beliggenhed, jeg følte mig godt tilpas på stedet, og kommer gerne igen næste gang, jeg er i Praia.

Center of town, safe, interesting, and close to the main market where you can eat a big lunch for only 250$00 - 300$00 cve or buy produce. Also, walking distance down to Sucupira, a huge African market where you can buy almost anything and catch a Hiace to Cidade Velha, Assomada, Tarrafal, etc.!
ATMs and travel agencies can be found all around us.
Pedestrian street just opposite to us and live music almost every day.
Museums and the cultural palace are close by. Taxis and buses are all around.
The Hospital and clinics are 3 streets away (hoping you don't need these).
Everything in Plateau is within walking distance.
The town has buses and taxis all over, and after the bus closes at 9 pm, you can grab a taxi or we can facilitate you with a contact.
Going to the countryside you'll need to catch a Hiace (minivan).

We are a couple in our early 30's with a daughter, a dog and two kittens. I (Suelly) am a toddlers English tutor during the weekdays with a flexible schedule. Our daughter is 3 super friendly and full of energy. Ildo (my partner) is a personal trainer. He enjoys anything that involves sports. We both worked with tourism since 2015. We are always practicing languages and enjoy learning as we converse with our guests. It's a big pleasure for us to host and we will try our very best to help you with planing your stay. We are used to meeting people from all over the world as we both worked in a hostel before. We look forward to meeting you!
