An amazing riverside home which just oozes charm and character, this wonderful home is just a short walk to the town centre, where you can take relaxing walks along the river and enjoy this historic town. A short drive away are some of the most iconic tourist attractions the Midlands has to offer, such as the West Midlands Safari Park, Severn Valley Steam Railway and Wyre Forest National Nature Reserve. As you leave the house and head down the hill you are welcomed by the gorgeous views of the river, and within a short 5 minute picturesque walk over the bridge, you are welcomed into the Georgian Town of Bewdley. Locally in Bewdley there is much to explore, not only does it offer stunning riverside walks but the historic town has lots of pubs, cafes and independent shops to stroll around, there is also the Bewdley Museum which is well worth a walk around! In the surrounding areas, there are plenty of iconic attractions which are just a short drive away, some of which have been mentioned already, but one I would certainly recommend is the Wyre Forest National Nature Reserve which provides excellent opportunity to discover the rich, diverse wildlife (and for those that are adventurous, there is also a Go Ape situated in these beautiful woodlands!) If you don’t mind travelling a bit further out, under an hours drive there’s dozens more major attractions to see, here’s just a few, Black Country Living Museum, Birminghams Botanical Gardens, Cadbury World, National Sealife Centre, Worcester Cathedral, Ludlow Castle, too many more to mention so if you’re visiting for a few days or a couple of weeks there is plenty to keep you entertained!
Beautifully renovated house with all the mod cons, but has kept plenty of character, with the original beams, fireplaces and other antique finishings. Adrian was easy to communicate with, going out of his way, to make sure we were happy during our stay, I would definitely stay there again.
Bewdley is an old Georgian town with plenty of history going back centuries. Situated on the banks of the River Severn it used to be one of the major inland ports hundreds of years ago, it was very important as it shipped goods to and from Wales, Birmingham and the surrounding areas. It’s a very friendly town with lots of pubs, restaurants, takeaways and independent shops. Fantastic riverside walks to either Stourport on Severn or Arley going in the opposite direction. A few minutes walk from the house and you can have a great day out on the Steam train to Bridgnorth stopping off at the different villages on the way. For the more adventurous there are canoe trips from Bridgnorth or Highley back down the River Severn to Bewdley, this can take a few hours with a stop off for lunch at one of the riverside pubs.
There is parking for one vehicle directly outside the property on the cobblestones, additionally to this there is free parking on the street or paid car parks just over the bridge, 5 minute walk. There is a main train station at Kidderminster, 3 miles away, where you can travel to Birmingham, Worcester, London etc.
