Situated just metres from the shoreline on the Fife Coastal Path between the pretty fishing villages of Elie and St Monans, glamping at Kingfisher Lodge is the perfect way to enjoy all that the East Neuk has to offer. At Catchpenny we are completely off grid producing all our own power on site using wind and solar and storing it in batteries beneath the tents. We offer 12V USB charging ports for phones and tablets but we do not have standard mains three pin sockets. There is a gas boiler ensuring your hot water will be plentiful. Depending on your service provider there is 4G/5G mobile reception for internet but no WiFi. With all the comforts of home such as real beds, hot showers and a flushing loo! The kitchen is well equipped with a two hob gas stove for quick cooking and a wood burning stove for an additional hob and oven. The stove also provides warmth for those slightly chillier evenings. There will be a full basket of logs for your arrival as well as kitchen cleaning products and basics such as tea, coffee, sugar, oil, salt and pepper. Outside the fire pit offers the perfect opportunity for toasting marshmallows, enjoying a drink with a view and also doubles up as a BBQ for an alternative cooking method. Relax into the sofa and armchairs on the covered deck whilst soaking up the changing sea and sky. Step inside the lodges and there is a large lounge with sofa and dining table, kitchen area with hot water and fridge. There is a king size bed in one area, two single beds in another and an enchanting elevated king size cabin bed which forms the wall between the living area and twin room. There is a private bathroom at the back of each lodge with a fantastic shower, toilet, basin and heated towel rail. The back corridor has space for storing coats and wellies and all the things that make a seaside holiday a success. We provide all your bed linen, towels and bathroom products. The open-plan living / dining room has a log burning stove, sofa and coffee table as well a handmade wooden dining table and benches to comfortably seat 6 people and of course the large front deck with sofa and chairs to soak up the views. Hand crafted kitchen surfaces from our own fallen trees really make the kitchen unique. You’ll find all the tools you need to whip up your favourite meals. A fridge, sink and of course hot water mean your camping days are well behind you. All washing up and cleaning products are provided. The gas hob makes it easy to cook up a bowl of pasta for hungry children whilst the stove offers not only heat and cosiness but an alternative way to make your favourite roast. You’ll find some books and games for family entertainment and we can provide a travel cot and/or high chair on request. There's a bird book for keen birdwatchers to analyse the day’s sightings. Bring your binoculars for spotting seabirds and dolphins. Or simply hang out on the deck with a glass of wine, get the fire pit going and settle in for the evening.
