A special experience to stay in Mare's house. A historic house with tasteful decor with paintings made by herself or in the family. She is cordial with a great social heart for people who can use a helping hand and very welcoming. We were allowed to sit by the fireplace and use her kitchen. All this more than compensated for the fact that we slept less well because the bed was too soft for us. We can definitely recommend a stay with this special experience to everyone.

Merrie's house is eclectic, charming and cozy. And Merrie herself is delightful, she's warm and friendly, and communicates easily. I'm only sorry I didn't have more time to actually chat with her more! I was in the area for a horse show and didn't have much time at the house, but if I'm in the area again I will definitely stay there again!

What a homey feeling Merrie has created! I stayed in the red room and found it very comfortable. The grounds are very beautiful and festive.I enjoyed sitting outside in nice weather. Despite its proximity to this historical town center, the location is very private and peaceful. Loved the sense of Merrie's home's antiquity , her social nature, her sense of humor , her good taste, and her sweet natured cats. This is a great value with easy highway access. Within an hour of Boston, Cape Cod, or Providence ,there is lots to see. I really enjoyed my stay and will miss the comforts of her home and hospitality.

Very much a feeling of home. Warm and inviting. Merrie is a gracious and easy going hostess. Fun to talk to. The sense of time travel an old house brings to mind is so refreshing. Merries many art pieces and collections really add to that ambience. The outside is just as pleasant with its private yard and lovely plantings. I credit her hospitality to my stay being longer than I had originally planned.
