The home is quite large and a beautiful example of the period. This would be a perfect place for a wedding party or family gathering. We had trouble with the curtains and Jacob immediately fixed the problem. There are basic amenities but no added touches like coffee or tea. There are lovely coffee shops nearby and downtown Defiance is well worth the visit. The downtown is a block away and the pocket riverside park another block. I will definitely keep this location in mind for future family events.

The hosts were very accessible and quick in meeting our needs and concerns. They were very flexible as far as checking in as well as checking out.

Would stay here again. We only had a single problem with not having any paper towels but when I asked where to find them and found none. Jacob brought a large package over within 30 minutes.

We stayed here for the eclipse with 10 people in total, 6 adults and 4 children. The location is ideal, literally less than a block to the river and about a block to the main downtown street. The place itself was clean, and decorated really nicely - accurate to the pictures. It's not incredibly spacious downstairs, but we didn't feel cramped. Plenty of beds for everyone depending on your sleeping arrangements. Just a note that if you have smaller children, the train horn was loud (not too much for me, but my kids are older) at times so you might need a noise machine. Communication with Jacob was fabulous, super flexible and accommodating. Would stay again!!
