Original stone walls in every room offer a unique atmosphere, echoing tales from generations past. The large living room features a new kitchen, a traditional dining area, and a couch bed that will make you feel at home. The bathroom is carefully crafted in the traditional Cycladic style creating a luxurious Mediterranean flair. A queen-sized bed is placed in a quiet room of retreat and sensuality. Our balcony is the perfect place to start your day with a coffee or to relax in the mild evening breeze.

Dass wir Heikos Unterkunft gefunden haben war ein riesiger Glücksgriff! Ab vom Trubel in Athen kann man hier gut zur Ruhe kommen, ist aber auch schnell an allen gängigen Sehenswürdigkeiten der Stadt. Der Hafen ist nicht weit und es gibt viele Restaurants in der Nähe. Die Unterkunft ist wunderschön und Heiko war super zu erreichen, wenn man etwas gebraucht hat. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. :)
Great place everything close by
Unfortunately we stayed only one night at the Fisherman’s Romance - because our expectations were surpassed - we would say that the place is even more beautiful than you can see from the pictures. The interior is designed with a love for details and cozy atmosphere (what a variety of lamps and lights!) which made us understand why Heiko calls himself a passionate craftsman. Heiko was easy to reach, very friendly and helpful and everything went totally smooth. After having stayed before in the center of Athens we were happy to get to know the beautiful area of the port! Thanks a lot!
The Fisherman’s Romance is the PERFECT place to stay, especially if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of Athens center. Heiko was an exceptional host, he greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the house. We were weary from travel, so it was very nice to see a smiling face along with fresh fruit and olives awaiting us upon arrival. The house is absolutely beautiful inside, Heiko has done an astounding job with the design, it is gorgeous! When you step outside you get a lovely, welcoming sea breeze that makes you feel right at home. We enjoyed exploring the area and experiencing some of Heiko’s recommendations, including the best fresh octopus I’ve had in my life! We became comfortable with the bus and metro system for traveling to the city and around Pireas, it just takes a little navigating and maybe some help from the locals to make sure you’re heading in the right direction. Overall we had a great first experience in this beautiful country.

With its fascinating history and vibrant nightlife, the small Marina is a truly unique neighborhood and a perfect base for the exploration of Athens.
Two nearby metro lines allow easy access to the city center and its countless cultural sites. At the same time, the coastline of Piraeus invites you to enjoy stunning views and a sheer endless variety of local Greek cuisine. The recently renovated waterfront offers a diversity of restaurants, local Fish Taverns as well as Coffee Shops and Bars.
Within a minute's walking distance from the house, you will find a local bakery, a vegetable shop, a biological store, a pharmacy, and a supermarket.
Mikrolimano is a perfect base for the exploration of Athens and the islands of the Saronic gulf.
The Metro Station “Neo Faliro” (Green Line) is a beautiful 15-minute walk from the house, right under the Olympiakos soccer stadium. From here, it’s a 15-minute ride into the city center.
Opposite the Metro Station is the Tram stop “Peace and Friendship Stadium SEF”, giving you easy access to the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the Athenian Riviera.
The second Metro Station called “Dimotiko Theatro” (Blue Line) is a 25-minute walk to the center of Piraeus. It connects you to various destinations in Athens as well as to the Airport.
Another conviniant means of transport is the X96 Airport Bus. Coming from the Airport, the closest stop is “ISAP Neo Faliro”. Going to the airport, you’ll take the Bus from “Tzabella” a 7-minute walk from the house.
Last but not least Taxis/Cabs are a comfortable way to get around the city. From Mikrolimano to the center of Athens, fares vary between 10 and 18 Euros, depending on the time of day and traffic conditions. A reliable app for local taxi services is “free now”.
Free parking near the house is relatively easy to find.
