Checked all the boxes for us. Comfortable, well equipped, good wifi.country setting and quiet but close to Keswick and lots of great hiking. Laurence and John are good people, met us personally and Laurence led us through the barn and necessar information.

Beautiful scenery welcomes you to Threlkeld, Laurence & John were both in their garden; making the most of the glorious weather, when we arrived, they were very welcoming, showing us the barn, which is attached to their house, giving us lots of information about where to eat in the village - The Horse & Farrier lovely pub, just the place to enjoy a drink after a lovely local walk, & great food. The village has a wonderful Tea room in the village hall, again great food available, information about 6 local walks are available here, the walk leaflets were produced by the locals, the village has a nice friendly community feel about it, you will just want to move there. The barn was as described a cosy traditional Lakeland barn with character, fantastic views, everything you need for a peaceful break. Threlkeld also has regular bus links to Keswick & Penrith, we shall definitely be back for another visit, & Teddy the dog enjoyed watching rabbits in the field at the front of the property.

John and Laurence are quite simply 2 of the nicest people I’ve ever met through this website. We had a wonderful few days here. The barn is comfortable, cosy and really characterful - as far as it’s possible to get from the soulless, carbon copy rooms you often find on Airbnb these days. Location is perfect, lots of beautiful walks (and a swim or 2!) from the front door. Can’t recommend highly enough.

The village of Threlkeld is just outside Keswick with a good bus service into the town. The northern lakes from the coast to Penrith are easily accessible and Ambleside and Windermere are easily reached. The accommodation itself is pleasant and comfortable, and is generally well fitted throughout.

A perfect location, with amazing hosts and a fantastic cottage! Couldn't have asked for more and hope to be back before long!
