根特 · 整套民居 · 1室4床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · House in Ghent
Hidden gem nearby the 13th century Turrepoort city gate of Ghent. The house is located in a very quiet car-free alley within 300m of the historic city centre. As the house has all amenities such as full kitchen, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, working desk,... it's an ideal stay for longer period as well as for a shorter city trip. You will be staying in a unique home with all the amenities. The home includes a fully-equipped kitchen, living room, workspace, bedroom, bathroom and extra toilet. The home is fully private. You can sit outside in the alley.
We hebben genoten van ons verblijf in Gent! Proper en goed gelegen huis met vriendelijke mensen. Dankjewel! We komen zeker nog eens terug :-)
Staying at Pascal’s place was absolutely lovely. It is beautiful and cozy, we had everything we needed, the location in a quiet street yet right next to the city centre is immaculate, and Pascal was extremely kind and responsive. Warmly recommended!
The neighbourhood is quiet and safe for kids to play in front of the house or to eat outdoors as the street does not allow cars to enter and is a one-way street, so no bike traffic either.
Once you leave the 100 meter alley, you have a supermarket, restaurants, bars and coffee houses within 200 meters - where you can eat Italian, Spanish, Indian, Greek, Sushi, Thai,... or have a drink at the famous bar 'Hotsy Totsy' or at the coffee place 'Labath'.
Within 500 meters, you will be at the heart of the city with the famous three towers, medieval castle and picturesque bridge looking over the canal.
The best way to get around is on foot or bike as the city center is car-free. There are two public parkings Ramen (15 euro/24 hours) and Sint-Michiels (23.5 euro/24 hours) within 200m. If you arrive in the evening on a weekend both parkings might be full, in which case you might have to wait 10-15 minutes before entering carpark as other cars exit.
There is also paid street parking for max. 3 hours (3 euro per hour).

We are Pascal and Annelies. We lived in China for 15 years before moving back to our hometown Ghent. I am Pascal, author and keynote speaker on Chinese innovation. My wife Annelies is a multimedia artist and works at the University of Ghent. Our daughter studies Anthropology at the University of Utrecht. We always felt home in the house you will stay. Now we live in the townhouse next door. We hope you will love the city as much as we do!
