Lovely stay at Joe’s place. Lots of space for the whole family!! My toddler got to run around inside the home, there were books and toys to play with… it’s close a bit to the road so was hesitant and playing with her and our pup outside but we had allot of fun in the backyard area. Great parking, close to everything we needed. Quiet and friendly owners. Loved our stay. Thank you soooo much!

Hickory house was the perfect place to experience the eclipse. Wide open spaces and skies. A great getaway for the city. The fire pit at night felt like we were out camping. The house is pretty close to a main road. Trucks or vehicles with larger wheels can be noisy. But there is no constant traffic. Highly recommend if you want to get away.

Joe is a super responsive host! Breakfast was not🍳&🥞 as in the photos 😂 but oatmeal packets & K-Cups work fine! He's just finished a DIY on the place, a prefab-style farmhouse, so it's very new and clean. Once the finishing details (throw rugs, bath mats, place to hang towels, upgrade sheets, etc.) are in place, this booking will be a steal - reserve it now, before folks learn that Joe is truly a super host! This place is only an hour from Shawnee National Forest and some of the best hiking in Illinois, so it was the PERFECT place to crash after a long day of driving and hiking!
