The Lake House is in a great location. While in a quiet neighborhood it's only a few miles to the convenience of a Walmart, Starbucks, Lowe's, etc. What's more is it is less than 10 miles into Shenandoah N.P. and a plethora of wonderful day hikes. Charlottesville is only a 30 minute drive for fine dining, shopping or other interests. Nearby attractions include Montpelier (James Madison's estate) and Monticello (Thomas Jefferson's estate). There are other nearby attractions depending on your interests - for families there's a water park at Massanuttan (Four Seasons resort open to the public) and a little further north into the Shenandoah Valley the famous Luray Caves. There's also a guarded lake for swimming nearby (Chris Green State Park). The house itself is large and comfortably accommodated six. It indeed feels like a "lake house"; quirky and homey. The host did a great job supplying plenty of paper products, soaps, linens and other household necessities. All-in-all great stay.

My partner, our dog, and I had the pleasure of booking Peter's Lakehouse for an entire month. Given our remote working situation, we were greatly relieved to find the internet connection to be fast and consistently stable throughout our stay. The amenities provided truly enhanced our experience; we found ourselves spending many of our evenings and weekends kayaking, walking around the lake or indulging in cozy backyard activities, such as roasting s'mores. We would stay here again!

I was so fortunate to find this gem! We were able to make this gorgeous lake house our home for six months while traveling for work. Peter and Jennifer were amazing hosts and always responsive. They had everything you could ever need available. We loved spending time working on puzzles and playing games. But most of all loved be able to play on the lake with their paddle boat. I highly recommend staying here for a winter ski trip with family or a summer get away!
