After driving 2 hours from Kalumbila to Solwezi we got let down by the Mushitala Apartments after making a booking online. We arrived only to be told that they would have an apartment "tomorrow" for us. We searched around the city for other accommodation, which was either full or over priced for what would then be under delivered (Based on staying at the Floridian Lodge that was crawling with cockroaches in the first and second room we got moved to then the third room no running water). I then saw the property was available and contacted Susan (by this point it was starting to get late). Almost instantly she responded saying that we are more than welcome at her accommodation. Then she went out of her way to drive and meet us and escort us to the property. The pictures do not do it justice! The self contained chalets we stayed in were breath taking! Wonderfunl African charm with everything we need and more! It was spacious, the shower was lovely and the room had perfect cooking facilities and tea and coffee. Susan has been one of (if not THE)best host I have experienced while using airbnb. She opened up the bar for us so we could have a drink, made sure we knew where everything was, asked the staff to prepare some food we had brought with us so we didn't have to cook after our long trip AND made sure that we had breakfast ready for us before our early departure for another long trip to Chinfunshi and Ndola. Susan made us feel welcome and at home from start to finish. I would stay there again in a heartbeat! The only thing that was slightly unfortunate is that we didn't stay there on our way to Kalumbila and that we couldn't spend much of the following day there to further explore the site and its gym facilities. Great value, great place, incredible service and a truly exceptional host.
