This was a beautiful place to stay with incredible views and the endless New Mexico sky. The hike on the Upper Slide Canyon trail to the Rio Grande river was super cool and it was a short drive to downtown Taos with lots of good restaurants and fun shopping. The star gazing at night from the second floor deck had us feeling like we were in the stars. I love that the home is off the grid too and it was super cozy and felt like we were home, not some rando airbnb. We had no issues with anything and only wish we could have stayed longer!

The Taos getaway of my dreams! The views and sunsets were spectacular, and the dark sky ordinances make for some of the most beautiful star and moon gazing I've seen in NM. The house is so cool with large octagon windows and a huge deck. High taste level for decor and architecture, and super clean. It definitely feels like a vacation rental not like you're around someone's clutter. That said I had everything I needed. From reading the description about it being a little "off-grid" I thought it might be more rustic but it felt luxurious and comfortable. Plenty of hot water, house kept the perfect temp even though it was chilly outside at night. Big tv, comfy beds, hosts were responsive and helpful with instructions and directions to the nearby river. So peaceful, I can't wait to come back!

Silver Shield is a gorgeous space to enjoy expansive views, dark skies and all the magic of Taos. The beautiful octagonal windows perfectly frame the outstanding landscape so that you can enjoy the breathtaking outdoors even when relaxing indoors. This fully functional solar home is also filled with luxurious comfort. The kitchen optimizes form and function into a Chef's Kiss. The living areas are as captivating as the huge viewing deck up top! We were truly awe-struck by both the beauty of this home and the way it enhanced our interaction with the natural beauty of Taos. The near by hike is a Must-Do and the hosts were wonderful. Thank you, Silver Shield for an unforgettable experience! We will be back soon!
