Genoa, the port city and capital of Liguria, is historically known for its important role in maritime trade over many centuries. Narrow streets lead to monumental squares such as Piazza de Ferrari, with its characteristic bronze fountain, and the Carlo Felice opera house. Unmissable and iconic is the Aquarium of Genoa, the largest in Europe. The exhibition shows more than 70 rooms and about 12,000 specimens of 600 species from all the seas of the world.
