SAFE, CLEAN AND FRIENDLY TOURIST NEIGHBORHOOD.
Nestled in the heart of Bled, our apartment at Mlinska cesta 1 offers an ideal starting point for exploring this enchanting town. This neighborhood is literally just steps away from the serene waters of Lake Bled and 15 minutes walk away from the bustling town center, where you can find a bank with an ATM, post office, tourist information centre and an array of charming cafes and restaurants.
If you wish to visit the iconic island, boats (either the famous Pletna boat or small boat to rent) are just across the street.
The apartment is located on the walking path, which goes around the lake. The circle is 6 kilometres long and it takes roughly 1h15min to walk around. If you don't want to walk, there is a tourist train stop just across the street as well.
Behind the apartment building there is a trail leading to one of the hills overlooking Lake Bled (offering beautiful view), called Straža (also the place of summer tobogganing/sledding, which is a fun experience). On top of this hill, there is a simple fitness trail.
Just below the apartment, there is a small grocery store.
In the neighborhood there are three restaurants: Wine bar & restaurant Čarman, Hotel Starkl and Garden Village restaurant.
Whether you're here to relax or seek adventure, our neighborhood serves as the perfect backdrop for a memorable stay in Bled.
ROAD CONNECTIONS:
Bled is roughly 50 km away from Ljubljana. If you are coming from Ljubljana, the easiest access is the highway towards Jesenice, which you leave at the exit towards Bled. Bled is roughly 50 km away from the Austrian border or Italian border. If you are coming from Austria (Karawanke tunnel), the easiest access is the highway towards Ljubljana, which you leave at the exit towards Bled.
BUS CONNECTIONS:
Bus stop BLED-MLINO is just across the street from our apartment.From there, you can take bus to Ljubljana or Lake Bohinj.
RAILWAY CONNECTIONS:
Main railway station LESCE-BLED, which connects Lake Bled with Ljubljana is located 6 kilometres away from our apartment. You can take either bus or taxi to reach it. Secondary railway station BLED-JEZERO, which connects Lake Bled with Nova Gorica (but not Ljubljana!), is roughly 3 kilometres away from our apartment. You can take either tourist train or taxi to reach it.
THE BEST WAY TO EXPLORE BLED IS ON FOOT:
It will take "two steps" to get to the Lake Bled. We do recommend to walk all around Lake Bled. The walk around the lake is 6 kilometres and it takes roughly 1h15min to complete.
TOURIST TRAIN:
Tourist train drives around Lake Bled every day in the summer season (June-September), from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. every 45 minutes. In spring and fall (May, October) it runs on weekends in case of good weather between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. The train schedule is available at the train stops around the lake (nearest stop is just across the street from the apartment).
COACHMEN (FIJAKER)
Another alternative is to go on a ride with traditional horse-carriage, either around the lake, to Bled Castle or through picturesque villages in the surrounding area.
LOVE CYCLING?
We offer 2 basic trekking bikes, which you can use free of charge. In case you are a more demanding cyclist, you have numerous options to rent either sophisticated mountain bike or e-bike in the town.
