Lark Meadow Farm sits on 13+ picturesque acres with west-facing views of the mountains and sunsets. Our tastefully decorated guest house (on 1.5 acres) features an oversized covered patio to extend your living space outdoors. The yard is ideally suited for lawn games and has a large gathering circle to enjoy campfires under the stars. Come experience the serenity of country life in this special community that many Amish families call home. Beautiful Lake Koocanusa is within walking distance, and there's an Amish restaurant & store just down the road. Built in 2016 with expert craftmanship, our Guesthouse has a large master bedroom with comfortable mattress and bedding, plenty of dresser space, and a sit-stand desk if you need to work remotely. The two smaller bedrooms feature Amish-built bunk beds, and a portable crib is available for infants. The bathroom features a custom vanity, tub/shower with removeable grip bar, heated flooring, semi-private toilet, with a door connecting to the utility/laundry room with full-size Maytag washer & dryer. The living room has a sectional sofa, leather reclining chair/ottoman, wood-burning stove, and flat-screen TV. The eat-in kitchen has stainless steel appliances including a gas range, and dining table that comfortably seats six. The covered patio with vaulted ceiling and specialty lighting is the perfect space to relax. On the west side there is a dining table for four, a wood-fired pizza oven, two propane heaters, a sofa, two oversized chairs with ottomans, and two matching chaise lounges. On the northeast side you will find a smaller seating arrangement, a propane grill, and a rustic picnic table. Located adjacent to the Kootenai National Forest, the West Kootenai is home to a wide variety of wildlife including wild turkeys, eagles, meadowlarks (Montana's State Bird and the inspiration for our farm's name), white tail and mule deer, elk, coyotes, wolves, mountain lions, bears, and even the occasional moose. We raise chickens on the farm and sell fresh eggs daily. There are also three horse paddocks and room to park your horse trailer, so let us know if you're interested in bringing your horses! With the National Forest and Lake Koocanusa both so close, there are many activities to choose from including hiking, backpacking, Amish bike rentals, horseback riding, hayrides, swimming, fishing, etc. Bring your boat, kayak, paddle board, or other water toys to enjoy just down the road, or drive to the east side of the lake where Abayance Bay offers moorage and rentals for motor boats, pontoon boats, jet-skis, and water toys. They have a nice waterfront restaurant and host an outdoor summer concert series. Nearby Eureka is home to two golf courses, both with on-site restaurants. If you're up for a day trip, it's 1.25 hours to Libby, 1.5 hours to Whitefish, and 2 hours to beautiful Glacier Park.
自我介绍
We moved here in 2012 to escape the rapid pace of living in the Seattle area. We fell in love with the West Kootenai community for the slow-pace of life, the open meadows, the stunning mountains, the beautiful lake, the access to the Kootenai National Forest, and the wonderful people who call this special place home ... including our many Amish neighbors.
