Bay Tree Cottage has a well-equipped kitchen/ diner, ideal for guests who enjoy cooking while away on holiday. There is a large, sunny sitting room with a living flame fire, Smart television and french doors opening out into the private rear garden. Upstairs there are three bedrooms - a king-size, double and twin 3ft beds - with two bathrooms (one of which is an en-suite shower, the other a large family bathroom with twin wash basins, a bath and separate walk-in shower) making this a perfect place for a family to stay during school holidays or two couples throughout the year. Outside there is a lovely raised sun terrace, from which you can enjoy open views of the grazing pastures beyond. Due to the property's rural nature, the area is unaffected by light and industrial pollution, leaving intense dark skies for star gazing during the summer nights. Set within a small exclusive development with two designated off-street parking spaces, this idyllic property has access to two acres of communal woodlands and grounds, ideal to exercise the hound, or tire the children! Bay Tree Cottage is a few minutes on foot to the pretty village of Little Walsingham which has a great foody pub, the Black Lion, cafes and a renowned local farm shop. Just ten minutes in the car, or a short journey on the light railway, is the wonderful coastal town of Wells-next-the Sea, where you can enjoy some crabbing off the quayside, discover the stunning sandy beach with its colourful beach huts and sample East Anglia's top fish and chip shops. Additional Information: One well-behaved dog welcome, for a small additional charge. Synthetic bedding provided. There is a charcoal barbecue at the property. There is a high chair in the kitchen, but no travel cot or portable stair gate at the property, so please bring your own. There are two allocated parking spaces in the vicarage car park for this property. A complimentary starter pack is provided on your arrival which includes essentials such as tea, coffee, sugar and milk plus a welcome treat Please note: There is a 20-metre shingle path from the parking area to the property which may not be suitable for guests with mobility difficulties. Neighbouring properties have a private right of access through the rear of the garden which is used for garden maintenance. There is an unenclosed pond in the shared woodland.
Home to historical buildings, including two medieval monastic houses, Little Walsingham, is the location of the Abbey Grounds and Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham. Neighbouring Great Walsingham, strangely the smaller of the two, hosts a gallery and craft barn and local cafe serving delicious lunches, light snacks and award-winning pies, plus Walsingham Farm Shop sells local produce and good quality meat - the perfect place to grab food for a scrumptious BBQ. Travel in style on the Wells and Walsingham Light Railway, or cycle round the surrounding quiet lanes. The area provides a variety of dining at various pubs and restaurants including The Carpenters Arms in Wighton, The Three Horseshoes at Warham.
Less than ten-minutes by car, Binham Priory hosts a range of summer concerts making the most of its excellent acoustics and ambience. Priory Farm provides raw milk, and a dairy shop with cheeses, butter, ice cream and coffee. The Parlour cafe is a recent addition and proving to be very popular.
A ten-minute car journey away, Wells-next-the Sea is hub for North Norfolk coastal activities. From the picturesque harbour, where gilling for crabs is a must, you can walk, drive or catch the beach bus to the spectacular beach with its famous array of colourful beach huts and pine forest. Staithe Street, the bustling high street, offers a flurry of independent shops, lovely tearooms, great gastro pubs, independent restaurants and The Wells Maltings, North Norfolk's Landmark Cultural Centre with exciting events all year round. Start your day with a delicious coffee from Bang or Will's of Wells. If you love local seafood then booking a table at Wells Crab House is must. Reward yourself after an active day with some of the best fish and chips in the area at French's, followed by dessert from Swirl icecream parlour. Hire a bike from the quayside and spend the day exploring the estate and local coastal paths. Breath-taking Holkham Hall and expansive Holkham beach can be found just a short journey down road. Further along the coast, the village of Stiffkey is renowned for its magnificent saltmarsh, one of the country's richest in wildlife.
The Georgian town of Holt is a paradise for shoppers, boasting art and antique galleries, independent fashion boutiques, delightful gift shops, grocery stores offering the best of local produce, plus an excellent selection of cafes, pubs and restaurants galore. For Michelin starred dining, book into Meadowsweet. Other places not to miss include the Owl Tea Rooms and the Folly Tea Room. The Kings Head in nearby Letheringsett, boasts The National Pub & Bar Awards 2021, Norfolk County Winner. A short drive away, food lovers can find the Dun Cow at Salthouse or The Wiveton Bell. From April to December, Holt hosts an award winning, destination street market that showcases the best local independent craftspeople, designers, makers, food producers and street food traders.
Also within easy reach, the coastal towns of Morston and Blakeney offer seal spotting trips by boat.
