Isle of Palms has been a beach vacation destination since 1906. It is a small private island with no high rise hotels approximately 12 miles from Charleston. It can be described as having plenty to do without being touristy. There are quaint shops and restaurants and relaxing yet fun things to do on the island including water sports, fishing, and golf.
The Windjammer bar has bands and night life. Coda del Pesce, ACME LowCountry Kitchen, Islander 71, The Boathouse at Brach Inlet, Lawrence's Seafood, Coconut Joe's, Papi's, The Dinghy, Smugglers, and IOPizza are great restaurants nearby.
