Far removed from the crowded beaches of Moalboal and the tourist-filled waters of Oslob, our place presents a peaceful haven for those eager to savor moments of serenity, but situated in the heart of the heritage city of Cebu. Here, mornings greet you with the melodious chirping of birds, crowing of roosters and the charming presence of Guinea Fowl wandering about the grounds, signaling the start of a day. A leisurely walk from Casa Catalina takes you through streets lined with age-old heritage houses, leading to the local city mall in just 15 minutes. Our accommodations in Casa Catalina are designed to meet diverse needs and preferences, offering 7 elegantly furnished guest rooms with private bathrooms, with air conditioning and hot water, ensuring your comfort and privacy. The rooms cater to individual, couple travelers, or larger groups. Guests have access to a spacious pavilion, providing a perfect setting for breakfast (not included) or optional dinner services, complemented by free Wi-Fi access. --Facilities and Services:-- () Total Rooms: Our place houses seven distinct rooms, with a total of 10 single beds, 2 queen beds, ensuring comfort and privacy, including accessible facilities for disabled guests. () Pavilion and Common Area: The pavilion and common area with seating good for 30 people, suitable for various group activities, workshops, or simply enjoying a night with friends. Please note that if you want to book the whole pavilion for any event you would be required to book all 7 rooms, (because other guests cannot use the shared spaces when you have a private event.) () Outdoor Spaces: The outdoor areas offer a tranquil environment for relaxation and socializing amidst the beauty of the town of Carcar. --Special Features: -- () Capilla del Sto. Entierro Immerse yourself in the tranquil sanctuary of Capilla del Sto. Entierro, a private air- conditioned chapel situated within our grounds. This revered space is open to all guests seeking a moment of peace, reflection, or silent prayer. Here, amidst the hushed ambiance, you can connect with tranquility and contemplate in solitude or with loved ones. () () Please Note: While guests can freely enjoy the majority of our amenities, including the Capilla del Sto. Entierro. A donation is greatly appreciated for its upkeep and ensuring the maintenance of its serene and sacred atmosphere, that helps us provide an environment conducive to prayer, meditation and reflection. Guests would need request for someone to open the chapel. () The Soul of Heritage - Balay na Tisa , the Sarmiento -Osmena Ancestral House: Step back in time with a visit to Balay na Tisa, a real-life heritage house within the same compound as Casa Catalina. Built in 1859 and home to five generations, this historical marvel offers an authentic glimpse into the Filipino way of life from centuries past. The house’s architecture, a harmonious mix of stone and wood topped with the original red clay roof tiles (tisa), showcases the ingenuity and cultural richness of the era. Still occupied by the descendants of its original builders, Balay na Tisa is not just a museum but a living, breathing home.
