Set in a tranquil spot a few miles west of the Brecon Beacons National Park, this cottage makes a fabulous getaway for two. Providing an idyllic holiday retreat for a couple seeking a relaxing escape, this stylishly updated barn conversion is surrounded by glorious rural scenery. Retaining some exposed ceiling beams, this cottage has been beautifully decorated and tastefully furnished throughout. Perfect for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers, it occupies a charming spot on a smallholding and is perfect for exploring the area. Originally a pigsty, this stunningly converted property features a fully equipped kitchen/diner which makes a lovely space for sharing a romantic meal for two. A few steps lead up into the cosy lounge – perfect for snuggling up with a movie or a good book in front of the warming wood burner-effect electric fire which complements the underfloor heating. Heading up to the first floor, you will find the charmingly decorated and spacious king-size bedroom with exposed beams in the vaulted ceiling. The bedroom also has the benefit of an invigorating en-suite bathroom. Outside, the generous enclosed garden has a furnished patio ideal for a BBQ or al fresco drinks. The cottage is just a mile from the friendly village of Cwmdu which has a welcoming pub and well-stocked shop, and makes a wonderful base for exploring the Brecon Beacons. To the south, the bustling market town of Llandeilo (7 miles) offers a wide choice of restaurants, cafes and pubs. Local landmarks and attractions include the remains of Talley Abbey overlooking Upper Talley Lake (1 mile), Dinefwr Castle and Newton House (both in Dinefwr National Nature Reserve – 9 miles), Carreg Cennen Castle, Aberglasney Gardens, Herbert’s Quarry and the National Botanic Garden of Wales (all within 16 miles).
