Our stay on Cham Island was the highlight of our 3 weeks in Vietnam. Mumma Kim is amazing and looked after us so well. Great food, snorkelling trip was a must, fishing trip was fab and she organised motorbikes and transfers. The house is clean but basic so don’t expect 5 star resort. The usual hard beds of Vietnam but I prefer that anyway. Bathroom is a shower over a toilet but does the job! Only thing to improve on is to mention that the boats fill up quickly so book in advance and also that when you arrive the only transport is motorbike which is 60k per bike each way. There were six of us with luggage so basically 1mill return. Best to hire bikes when you arrive and drive yourselves as they are only 150k per day and gives you the flexibility to see the other lovely beaches on the island. Easy to ride and my 17 daughter was fine as no cars and very little traffic. A great adventure! White beaches, blue water friendly people. We stayed 3 nights which was perfect.

Mama Kim took the best care of us. Her cooking and her hugs are something I will always remember. She’s like the Vietnamese grandmother I wish I had. The town is rural and magical, we rented scooters and hopped from beach to beach. Mama Kim and her daughter helped us arrange everything. I would like to return for a couple of weeks. Hard to explain how magical and special this place is. If you’re looking for an authentic experience off the beaten path this is for you.

We’ve spent 4 days in Cham Island Smiles Homestay and had a lovely time. Every morning we woke up to a delicious breakfast made by Mama Kim, while the monkeys were running on the roof, trying to steal the food. Mama Kim is very sweet, we immediately felt welcome. Mama Kim is also an amazing cook. Her house is a nice place to stay and very clean. The island itself is beautiful, there is beautiful nature such as beaches and the jungle. We rented scooters and could see the whole island in a fun way. There were a lot of fun activities like snorkeling and fishing. We wanted to do both and Mama Kim took care of it very fast. We really enjoyed our time here and would definitely recommend it!
