The person who received me and handed the keys to me during my check-in was not the host, and he told me that he was the host's husband. He had no idea that the listing allowed pets, and he suggested that I leave my beloved cat OUTSIDE of the house beside the shoe rack on the house porch throughout my stay there! I firmly told him that my cat is a fully indoor cat and that I would be keeping it in my room. He then asked me to keep my cat in my room at all times and not to allow my cat roam outside of my room to the other common areas of the house. Throughout my stay there, I had never seen the actual host or been in any contact with her (the profile picture of the host is that of a woman). There was also a really terrible smell coming from the huge monsoon drain directly behind the house, and the smell was further exacerbated by the daily heavy rainfalls, as it was the rainy season here in Klang Valley in late October. Although the smell from the drain is not the host's fault, it was still an inconvenience for me and it took nearly a week for my nose to get desensitized to the smell.
