I am Ahmad, like all Bedouin children, I grew up playing in the sand dunes of Wadi Rum, climbing the formidable mountains surrounding the desert, and helping our families with animals and around the house, as I welcomed more and more Guests into Wadi Rum desert, I realized that what gives me the most pleasure is sharing our unique, traditional culture with others. That’s how the Camp started in 2015. Since then, I've made friends with people from Barcelona to Chicago and everywhere in between. Our camp has been designed with local products. Constructions made to have minimum impact on nature. Our Architect and landscape architect: Patrizia Falcone. As the sun is abundant in the desert, we use solar panels to power up our camp. Water is precious in the Desert – please help us spend only the necessary. We support the local women’s cooperative in the nearby Disah village (the Disi Women Cooperative) by purchasing their handmade decorative pieces for our camp. During your stay here, we provide you with refillable metal water bottles to decrease the amount of plastic that is used in the desert.

The Mars-like desert of Wadi Rum is unlike any other desert on Earth. Sometimes called ‘the Valley of the Moon’, this desert was formed millennia ago as an ancient sea floor. Over the centuries, the sea eroded into the whimsical landscape of sandstone and granite mountain formations spread over 720 square kilometers of red, yellow, and white sand dunes. To experience the Wadi Rum is to get close to the primordial way of life when man and nature existed as one.
The desert is a hostile, arid environment but the Bedouins have made it their home for centuries. We love and respect this environment and we hope you will too.
During the summers, the desert gets hot with average temperatures ranging from 30-40C, cooling off at night with a gentle breeze. In winters, the desert has a pleasant temperature of 20-25C, cooling considerably at night (so don’t forget to pack warm clothes). We also provide warm blankets in each of the tents.
What to pack: sunscreen, comfortable clothing and scarves in the summer, warm clothing like a jacket or a wind-breaker and socks in the winter. Water and soft drinks are available at the camp.
