WINTER
SKIING AREA
The Almenwelt Lofer has already received many awards and international piste quality seals. Almenwelt Lofer is the first cable car company in the world with 2 child-safe 8-seater chairlifts. A total of 2 gondola lifts, two 8-seater chairlifts, a 6-seater chairlift, a modern conveyor belt and 4 drag lifts with high quality standards are available!
Our holiday home is located approx. 1 kilometre from the centre and the valley station of the Loferer Almbahnen. Far enough to be able to enjoy the wonderful nature, the fantastic mountain world and the peace and quiet and yet close enough to be able to reach the centre quickly on foot. Incidentally, many of our guests leave their skis in the ski depot at the valley station and then walk from our holiday home to the valley station of the Loferer Almenwelt. The walk takes about 15 minutes, which is ideal for warming up! Of course we also have our own ski room in our house where you can store your skis and ski boots etc.. There is also a free ski bus that takes you directly to the valley station of the Loferer Almbahnen.
CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING
The access to the beautiful cross-country ski trail is only 100 metres from our holiday home. Lofer and its surroundings can truly be described as a cross-country skiing paradise. 80 kilometres of perfectly groomed trails are available for you to roam through the wonderful landscape. There is also a night cross-country trail, routes for classic, skating and biathlon. AND a high-altitude trail on the Loferer Alm.
SNOWSHOE HIKING
Put on your hiking boots or snowshoes and set off into the marvellous winter landscape. Our holiday home is the ideal starting point for many romantic hikes.
SLEDGING
Maria Kirchental in St. Martin bei Lofer is a wonderful and very romantic toboggan run. The pilgrimage church "der Pinzgauer Dom" is wonderfully embedded in the winter landscape. The church should definitely be visited. Afterwards, of course, stop off at the Kirchentalwirt before taking the 2.1 km long natural toboggan run down into the valley. Sledges can be borrowed free of charge by guests of our hotel.
TOURING SKI
Climbing the mountains on touring skis is a great thing and is becoming increasingly popular. This sport is also good for your health and your wallet. In our region there are a wide variety of tours from easy to difficult. Ski tours are often possible well into spring. It's a fantastic feeling to hurtle down into the valley through the glorious powder or glistening firn snow.
SUMMER
HIKING
1100 kilometres of hiking, 100 summits, 60 alpine pastures!
Lofer and the surrounding Saalachtal valley offer wonderful promenades, walking paths, hiking and summit tours as well as a number of via ferratas. Famous hiking routes such as the "Arnoweg", the "Jakobsweg" or the "österreichischer Weitwanderweg" all lead you through our beautiful nature.
Among the 1100 kilometres of hiking trails, you are sure to find an unforgettable route through our magnificent Lofer mountains and their surroundings.
Hikes in the Loferer, Reiter or Leoganger Steinberge mountains, the Steinernes Meer or the hiking area of the Loferer Almen, the Berchtesgaden Alps, to name but a few, are certainly among the most unique experiences. All areas are ideal for all kinds of adventures. From leisure hikers to climbers or via ferrata climbers - there is certainly something for everyone.
BICYCLING
480 kilometres of cycle paths in Lofer and the immediate surroundings offer numerous opportunities for exploring by bike. Leisure cyclists as well as well-trained mountain bikers are sure to find their own bike experience. Our holiday home is also an ideal starting point for racing cyclists. Lofer lies almost in the centre of two TOP stages in the cycling world. Kitzbühel with the Kitzbüheler Horn (one of the steepest and toughest routes in the Alps) is only 35km away and the Großglockner High Alpine Road is 50km away. (Glocknerkönig & Österreich Radrundfahrt are just 2 well-known events around this fantastic cycling mountain).
SPORT & LEISURE
Lofer offers a wide range of sports and leisure activities at any time of year and for any weather. The main themes of hiking, cycling, skiing and snowboarding have their own section above. Lofer is also famous for its white water sports. The Saalach is often the venue for various competitions, such as the World Canoeing Championships. The Saalach: a paradise and challenge for all canoeists and rafters. Below you will find a list of some of the sports and leisure activities on offer.

Lofer is the centre of the Pinzgauer Saalachtal valley and therefore has countless excursion possibilities to offer in the "border triangle" of Salzburg, Tyrol and Bavaria in a very small area and within a short distance. Even world-famous towns such as Salzburg, Zell am See and Kitzbühel are no more than 40 kilometres from Lofer.
