This is an absolutely amazing apartment and I don’t say that lightly. It is sympathetic refurbished, tastefully furnished, airy and comfortable. The views out to sea are wonderful and it was such a delight to wake up to a sea view, birdsong and sunshine. We really liked the description and the photos for this lovely apartment before we traveled and we found that the real thing surpassed our expectations.
Me and two friends stayed at Maria’s apartment. The location was perfect and just as described. Lovely views from the balcony and very central in the old town. Communication with the host was very easy. Would highly recommended
Beautiful place to stay, very clean, good amenities and lovely location and views. Unfortunately when we visited the weather was cold and very wet and we were unable you out on any heating as we could not get the AC to turn on as no batteries in the remotes. Sure this wont be a problem in the corfu sun. Would definitely come back and visit again. Thank you Maria … you are a great host.

It was a great experience to live in a "palazzo" of 1850. It's a historic mansion of exceptional architecture in the old town of Kerkyra, in front of the old harbor...The building is very old with problems in the common areas, but the apartment is fully renovated with fine touches in decor and fully equipped with everything you might need for a comfortable living...You can also visit all the points of interest on foot, as the house is very close to the center of the old town. Initially I booked the apartment for three days but I extended my stay, as I loved this unique place with the breathtaking view, the sunny high ceiling rooms and the aristocratic style... Maria was a great host, and although I never met her I felt as if she was always there ready to help me in any case...

A stroll around the Old Town will either start or end at the famous Liston next to the main Spianada Square. You can enjoy coffee, food or a drink in nearby establishments and of course you will be only at a 1-3-minute walking distance from all sights.
The Old Town of Corfu is the only such large area in Greece to have retained almost intact its historical urban network, with buildings dating from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. This housing stock brings to the surface the unique historical conjuncture that formed its architectural and cultural character.
The Old Town and its two forts are nowadays listed among UNESCO’s World Heritage Monuments. That listing is accompanied by a “Statement of Outstanding Universal Value”, parts of which follow: “The ensemble of the fortifications and the Old Town of Corfu lies at a strategic location on the entrance to the Adriatic Sea. Its roots go back to the 8th century BC and then to the Byzantine period. It has thus, been subject to various influences and an admixture of different people and their ideas [...] On various occasions it had to stand at the first line of defence of the Venetian maritime empire against Ottoman armies.
Corfu has a well – considered example of fortification engineering, designed by the architect Sanmicheli, and proved its growth in practical warfare. Corfu retains a specific identity reflected in its system of fortifications, and in its neo – classical building stock. It can therefore be placed among other major Mediterranean fortified port cities”
