The picturesque harbour is full of little fishing boats during the season and local children are often seen leaping off the end of the quay. (on purpose!) It is well worth taking a trip on the St Mawes Ferry, these iconic little blue craft shuttle between St Mawes and the town of Falmouth on the west bank of the Fal River. The ferry is a great way to see the river and the surrounding countryside and offers stunning views of the coastline and the sea, especially out of season, there are regular sightings of dolphins.
