We rented a premium room for one week. Not a day passed when we didn't feel at home. Right from the owner's family and the family dog down to the drivers who drove us around made us feel very comfortable. The room itself offered fantastic views of the mountains, that too from a relatively close range (even the washroom did). Even Mt. Kanchenjunga appeared somewhat up close with 12x50 binoculars, though we were fortunate to see it only once during our stay due to the weather conditions. We were told that the winter months offered the best views of the snow-clad peaks. The entire accommodation was clean, artsy, and maintained with care. The caretaker made us great food, offering variety and local cuisines. The place is about half an hour away from Gangtok, so the cab rides to town were a bit pricey (Rs. 500) but worth it if you're not doing rides every day. Power outages were a bit frequent but the owner proactively made alternative arrangements for us. All in all, we loved it all!

The caretaker Passang cooks really really great food... Having tasty breakfast with such a great view is priceless...
