The area offers cultural attractions such as the Walaker Art Gallery in Solvorn, Urnes Stave Church and Dale Church. From the house you see the mountain Molden which gives you a fantastic view of the landscape with green fjord and white mountain peaks. This is a mountain hike that is suitable for the whole family. Brunestegen is a mountain area you also see from the house. You drive there in 15 minutes and is a good starting point for climbing the high mountains in Breheimen, or less demanding trips to beautiful Seljesete and Rysete. Signs with maps and tour suggestions can be found in the parking lot in Brunestegen.
In Jostedalen there are spectacular rock formations and opportunities for great hiking. Drive to Vanndalsvatnet and go up to the highest peak, Vangsen (1757 m). There are also roads to cultural landscapes in, among others, Vigdalen and Krundalen.
The Austerdalsbreen glacier on Veitastrond and the Nigardsbreen glacier in Jostedalen are two of the most beautiful and easily accessible glaciers in Norway. If you want longer trips, Mørkridsdalen and Fortunsdalen are two classic areas for mountain trips in the heart of the Lustrafjord, only a 30-minute drive away.
If you want to explore the Sognefjord, there are opportunities to rent kayaks and other hiking equipment in the village.
