Relax with the whole family & your four legged friend at this cosy, characterful classic Cornish cottage nestled in the peaceful countryside surrounding St Ives. Tucked away in a rural location but still just under 2 miles from the golden sands of St Ive's famous beaches so you're only ever a short drive or good walk away from the town's hustle & bustle which makes it perfect if you're looking for a quiet base from which to explore St Ives & further afield in Cornwall. Gillyflower Cottage is a traditional granite terraced cottage huddled amongst trees and other cottages. After a day out and about exploring Cornwall step through the front door into the porch where you can sling off your wellies, hang up your coats and store your buckets & spades. From here step into the cosy sitting room with it's characterful stone walls, impressive feature fire place and comfy sofas. Pop into the fully equipped kitchen with a good stock of cooking tools and utensils if you fancy whipping up some culinary delights. You're bound to be tired after your day out and about so stroll upstairs where you'll find the master bedroom with it's comfy kingsize bed and views out onto the garden. There's also the twin bedroom with it's two single beds and light, airy feel where you can also have a rest. Finally wash the sand off your toes from your day at the beach in the clean bathroom at the end of the corridor.

Gillyflower Cottage is nestled within a lovely terrace of old granite cottages which were once all part of a working farm known as Higher Carnstabba Farm. If you went back a couple of hundred years you'd find cows in the living room instead of sofas as this room was once the cowshed!
The group of cottages are surrounded by mature trees and rollings fields and is accessed is via a tree lined dirt track which links up to Steeple Lane which is a pretty Cornish Lane.
The surrounding properties are a mixture of holiday lets and private homes. There's even a local fisherman..........
BY CAR...
St Ives and it's iconic harbour and beaches are just a 5 minute drive from the property. If you're looking to explore further afield during your holiday then Gillyflower is perfectly located, with many popular destinations within a 30 minute drive, including the following:

The cottage comes with one allocated parking space in the shared car park in front of the property. Please only park in the space provided and please park with consideration for other car-park users.
Unfortunately we can't offer more than one parking space so if you're travelling in two cars you'll need to pay to park the second vehicle in one of St Ives's car parks.
ON FOOT...
If you fancy a walk it takes about 30 minutes to stroll into St Ives from the cottage. It's downhill all the way in to town but that does mean it's uphill all the way back which is great if you're keen to get some exercise but you can always grab a taxi if you're wanting a more leisurely journey home. In the summer months there is a bus service into St Ives from nearby Polmanter Campsite which is just a 10 minute walk from the cottage.
BUS...
There's a bus station in St Ives and from there you can hop on a bus to the nearby towns of Carbis Bay, Hayle, Penzance, Marazion, Mousehole, Newlyn, Sennen and Lansend. There are also buses that take you to places further afield such as Truro and Falmouth.
TRAIN...
St Ives train station is situated right next to the beautiful Porthminster Beach and from there you can take a short train journey to St Erth Station from there you can travel by rail to many areas including Penzance, Hayle, Truro, Falmouth and St Austell.
Even if you have a car the train journey from St Ives to St Erth is well worth doing as it's the one of the most picturesque sections of railway in the country, wrapping around the coast giving you the most stunning views of St Ives Bay!
