Our early Victorian townhouse is located a near the Royal Berkshire Hospital, great pubs and a 10-minute stroll along Kennet canal takes you to the Oracle and Reading town centre. Your quiet, comfortable room is located on its own floor, has a king bed, private bathroom, smart TV and direct access to our serene tropical garden featuring a pond and seating areas. You are welcome to use our kitchen and washing machine. Our two cats who will be delighted to meet you. Discounts Available. Our house is a traditional Victorian Townhouse which has been a dream project. We have kept what original features the house had but have carefully balanced it with modern amenities. The modern kitchen has the appliances you would expect, oven, hob, steam oven, toaster, fridge and freezer. We have a selection of teas and feel free to use the coffee grinder for a lovely cup of coffee in the morning. There is a small table in the kitchen where you can eat and in the summer, you can also dine al fresco in the garden. The bedroom has a comfortable king size bed, bedside tables and lamps. You also have a smart TV for your use as well as a spacious wardrobe with hanging space. Feather pillows can be provided on request. Your private bathroom has underfloor heating, sink, shower and space for your toiletries. We will also provide soft cotton towels throughout your stay.

I had an amazing stay at James & Jens' place! They were incredibly welcoming and helpful, providing me with valuable tips and suggestions for exploring the area. Their two cats, Rupert and Jory, were an absolute delight - friendly and adorable! I loved being greeted by them every morning and every night when I came home. The accommodation was comfortable and clean, and I felt right at home throughout my stay. Thank you for such a wonderful experience, I highly recommend this AirBnB to anyone visiting the area!

James and Jens are wonderful! They provided multiple recommendations for food, shopping, site seeing. I felt safe, comfortable, and enjoyed the company of the two kitties - sweetest fur babies! The koi are mesmerizing, and the room was calm and quiet - just what I needed. Good selection of fruit and breakfast options and the best coffee! Definitely going again!

Our house is located in what is known as Reading's village, a conservation area in the heart of Reading. We are a stone's throw from The Royal Berkshire Hospital and have great local pubs about 1/2 minutes' walk away, one of which serves lovely food, whilst the other has a great local atmosphere and hosts regular music.
In 5 minutes, you can be walking along the Kennet canal and past the old Reading gaol (infamous due to it being the location where Oscar Wilde was incarcerated) to the Abbey ruins where many summer events are held.
The Thames Lido is also within walking distance, this is a beautiful Victorian Lido with spa facilities, outdoor heated pool and restaurant serving the most delicious Spanish and Mediterranean influenced food. With the Thames nearby, you have the opportunity for longer walks and in an hour, you can be in Sonning.
There are some on street parking with free 2-hour slots, however the nearest multi-storey car park is Queens Road car park.
The nearest bus stops are located on Queens Road.

Reading mainline station is 15 minutes' walk away, this has regular services into London on GWR mainline rail and the London underground's Elizabeth Line which takes you direct from Reading to stops within the centre of London and further east.
At the railway station you can also catch the regular RailAir coach to Heathrow airport and the train to Gatwick.
