Varigotti, which was an important port in Roman and Byzantine times, is a beautiful seaside resort with a mild climate ideal for all seasons. It has got one of the longest beaches in Italy. The primitive historic village "Borgo Saraceno" is a picturesque cluster of houses in Arabian style immersed in bougainvillea that wind along the beach. Numerous bathing facilities and free beaches as well.

NATURE, ART, SPORT AND FOOD
The hinterland offers naturalistic tours and historical sites. For TREKKING enthusiasts you can follow many trails and paths in the typical "macchia mediterranea" rich of Mediterranean plants.
Short walks like the one to the 12th century Church of San Lorenzo between Varigotti and Capo Noli or the one to the Saracenic Tower overlooking the Baia dei Saraceni.
Longer walks, like the Sentiero del Pellegrino overlooking the steep rocks on the sea from Varigotti to Noli.
For BIKERS go to Le Manie, a plateau where every year takes place an important international mountain bike competition.
Between Varigotti and Capo Noli the wild nature of the coast, with its high vertical rock walls have attracted ROCK CLIMBERS since ever. Not far from Varigotti, in Rocca di Perti, there is a famous rock gym equipped with difficulties from the second, third grade upwards.
In a few kilometers you get to Finale Ligure, little town full of restaurants, shops and historical buildings. Don't miss to visit Final Borgo which is one of the most beautiful Ligurian medieval village in Italy.
You can taste excellent wines and plates typical of Liguria.
Among the wines I suggest vermentino, pigato, rossese, sciacchetrà and lumassina.
