The Location: Mendon is located between Killington and Rutland. Killington has a famous après ski scene and is widely known to have the best nightlife of any East coast ski resort. There are EXCELLENT dining options in both Killington and Rutland. For those traveling from far away…all of the “big city” conveniences of Rutland, VT are located only 10 minutes away. These include: Starbucks, Walmart, Chipotle, CVS, Dunkin Donuts, Five Guys, McDonalds, and hundreds of others stores and restaurants. The property is also located within minutes from popular wedding venues including the well-known Mountain Top Resort. For snowmobiling enthusiasts, the VAST trail system is located only a couple hundred yards away from Legacy Chalet. The VAST trail system is a well-maintained network of snowmobile trails which span over 5,000 miles and connect towns and cities throughout Vermont. There are also several hiking trails and lakes within minutes of the property. For guests traveling from New York City or Connecticut; there is an Amtrak station and rental car location located less than 15 minutes from Legacy Chalet making your Vermont ski trip easier than ever. The Home: At Legacy Chalet you don’t need to compromise quality for a great location. This is a newly renovated 3900 square foot 4-bedroom/3-bathroom home packed with comforts and amenities. Life gets busy. We all grow up, start careers, have kids, and getting together becomes more difficult over time. This home was designed to host young families and features several amenities to make your stay comfortable, fun, and encourage spending quality time together. A large Kids Room is designed to entertain our younger guests while parents get to spend time in the meticulously designed Great Room or Speakeasy. Great Room: A massive open-concept room with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, and living area. With a wall of windows facing out into the beautiful Vermont outdoors; there is plenty of natural light to highlight the design details of this inviting space. The kitchen and dining area were designed to encourage eating and spending time together while on vacation. The appliances and amenities are to ensure that cooking or making coffee is simple and efficient. A record player is located in a cozy corner sitting area to create a relaxing atmosphere while enjoying your coffee or a drink. Kids Room: As previously mentioned, this home was designed with young families in mind. A large playroom with two QUEEN size bunk beds also boasts a large TV, air hockey table, and toys for all ages. This room is designed to keep our younger guests safe and entertained enough to allow their parents some time to put their feet up and unwind after a long day on the slopes. Speakeasy: Why go on vacation and not stay somewhere unique and fun? Enter the Speakeasy through a SECRET DOOR down into an isolated area of the home! This area features a bar, two TVs, two retro arcade games, a shuffleboard table, a "Ski The East" mural, a Vermont mountain mural, and a custom neon sign to take group pictures in front of (just to show all your other friends and family what they missed out on!). Master: A private room with huge windows and tons of natural light. Enjoy a king-size bed with a brand-new mattress and sheets so comfortable you won’t even want to get up and go skiing in the morning. This room features a private entrance to the master bathroom which boasts a large HGTV-worthy shower and a beautiful bay window. This room has a 43 inch smart TV. Bedroom 3: A large private room with a new queen-size bed and separate entrance to a large bathroom. This room could be considered a second master. This room has a 43 inch smart TV, a love seat, and a reading chair. Bedroom 4: A private bedroom with a new queen-size bed, large closet, and easy access to a full bathroom with a tub. This room is next to a second living area making it feel like a secluded area of the home. This area was designed for families traveling with very young children as there are two Pack n Plays, and blackout shades to make naps and sleeping through the night more likely while on vacation. This area is also located on the opposite side of the house from the Speakeasy to reduce noise. This room has a 43 inch smart TV. Office/Work Out Space/Hybrid: Nothing fancy about this room other than it is very functional and convenient. This is a small room which features a small desk and office chair for guests who still need to stay connected to work during their stay. There is also an adjustable weightlifting bench, two yoga blocks, two yoga mats, and adjustable weighted dumbbells (5-25lbs). This room would also be a good room to set up Pack n Plays as it located on the opposite side of the house from the Speakeasy. Outdoor Space: The driveway is large and able to accommodate up to 8 cars. A large deck off the Great Room overlooks the back yard. String lights are hung surrounding the yard creating a beautiful nighttime atmosphere. There is a new stone patio which is incorporated into the natural landscape of the property.
