Sudarmi is an amazing host, attentive and friendly. She went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The place is secluded and private but easily accessible at the same time as long as you rent a motorbike. There are some restaurants nearby and lots of shops to get daily supplies from. The villa has an amazing aspect and great sunset views.

The house looks like the photos, however it is somewhat dirty/ moldy / musty. It’s in a good location if you are looking for something that is remote. If you want a stress free stay and to not have to deal with problems, this probably isn’t the place for you. The power and water both shut off 4 times while I was staying here, and random people showed up in the garden on multiple occasions. The WiFi barely works, even if you pay for the faster speed (the price for upgraded WiFi is higher than what the host is advertising). If you want drinking water and propane for the stove, you’ll have to pay for that too. If you use the washing machine the power also stops working, so you can’t wash your clothes here. Also, the host complained about my electricity use, when I used ~$50 worth over a month stay. While cleaning, the host threw away a piece of my very rare and expensive guitar, and admitted that they threw it away, and then backtracked and said they didn’t when I told them it was costly.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Cempaka villa, it was clean, spacious and surrounded by a beautiful garden. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen supplied cooking facilities. We paid extra for faster WiFi and this worked well for us for the entire month. My only negative is the neighbour sometimes plays loud music, which isn't the hosts fault. Sudarmi is a lovely person, who greeted us with a coconut and some fruit from the garden. I would recommend you stay here to experience the true local life.

We had an overall great stay at this Airbnb in Bali. However, a heads-up about the insects, scorpions, and geckos would have been necessary. The weekly cleaning service was good, but due to the many insects and geckos, the house got quite dirty again after 2-3 days. The bathroom was calcified and the kitchen was a bit unclean. The cookware were very worn but sufficient for our needs. The Wi-Fi was dependent on the weather and not always efficient. The view wasn't exactly as in the pictures due to the grown trees, but it still offered an impressive view of the jungle. Sudarmi was always reachable and helpful. A negative point was that Sudarmi and her acquaintances were often in the garden and jungle unannounced, which was disturbing. The garden was great and the location right in the middle of the jungle was unique. A scooter is necessary, but that makes the stay special. There were no restrictions on receiving guests; we even had a friend stay with us for three weeks! Thank you!
