Welcome to Camp Earth Connection, a beautiful Woodland Campground and Retreat Center located adjacent to the Hammond Hill State Forest. My story: First, I'm know by friends and family as Eshay, although my legal name is Susan, so please call me Eshay, as you are my welcomed guests. I live the life I love, and have spent much of it designing inclusive program for people of all ages to support their connection with nature, the forest and each other. In 2002 I was able to purchase and become the caretaker of this beautiful parcel of land, 12 miles from Ithaca, NY which became Camp Earth Connection. For 13 years, I designed and created children's summer camps to offer families and children from the local community opportunities to learn, play and connect to nature in a very intimate way. I worked with local foundations and grantors to provide some of these programs free of charge to children and families from urban areas and disenfranchised communities. In 2010, I designed and offered the first Healing Hearts Women's Retreat at the camp. In 2015 I opened a small "Woodland Campground." The campground is designed to give each guest some private space allowing them the opportunity to experience nature in its wildest setting. I offer a variety of camping options are available to meet the needs of each individual, family and group. Camp Earth Connection is committed to Diversity, Acceptance and Community. Camp Earth Connection is an alcohol and drug free facility providing opportunities to experience a deep connection with the natural world here on Hammond Hill. I am ever grateful to live and be the caretaker of this beautiful land and would love you to experience the peace and tranquility that it brings to myself and others who visit. My camp companion is a young dog named Druid. He will be overly pleased to greet you too, as will any of my amazingly wonderful family of children and grandchildren who frequent the camp often. Update: Sadly canine companion, Taz passed on in February of 2022. He will be dearly missed.
