This 78 sqm ground-floor apartment, was fully renovated at the end of 2023 and can comfortably house 3-4 persons(tourists, families or remote workers as internet access/wifi coverage is readily available) . The apartment is located in the heart of Heraklion, right next to the medieval city walls and the central park. It enjoys undisturbed view to the Venetian-era ramparts which have for six centuries stood the test of time and are solid reminders of the rich history of Crete. The kitchen/ dining area has all major appliances (electric cooker, fridge, coffee machine, toaster and electric kettle), a nice dining table and offers access to a balcony. A second balcony is attached to the master bedroom. The flat is equipped with several wardrobes and shelving units, office space with a spacious desk and internet access, air conditioning, a washing machine, electric iron, vacuum cleaner. You can also stay connected with internet and entertainment on the TV of the living room. In the comfortable bedrooms a king-size double bed and a spacious single bed offer quality sleep experience. A couple can be accommodated in the double bed of the master bedroom, while in the second bedroom a large single bed is available for a child or an adult. In case of 4 guests, an auxiliary, foldable bed will be placed in the second bedroom. The bathroom facilities have been newly refurbished. Linens, towels, duvets, and blankets are provided. Close to the house you will find everything you need, shops and restaurants from breakfast to dinner, of excellent quality and authenticity. The apartment is very close (3-5 min walk) to the town centre. All main sights and attractions of Heraklion are within an easy walk, including the famous Archaeological Museum, the Historical Museum of Crete, the St. Catherina Cretan Iconography Museum, historical churches, Venetian-era buildings, the Medieval Port with the Koules Fortress (Rocca a Mare), as well as all major land and sea transportation hubs. Do not miss the opportunity to visit the tourist attractions of Crete using rented cars or public transportation. From this apartment, connections to all destinations are fast and efficient. The nearest sand beaches can be reached in a 15-30 min drive. The apartment is also an excellent starting point for short visits to nearby Aegean islands, e.g. the volcanic island of Santorin to which day excursions start at the port of Heraklion. The port and the central bus station can be reached in a 15-20 min walk from the apartment, while the International Airport of Heraklion can be reached by taxi in 10-15 min. Traveling by car? VOAK, the major motorway of Crete, can be reached in a 5-6 min drive from the apartment. Free parking is available on the street in front of the flat (although finding a free spot there during working hours may require some patience) or in the nearby municipal parking area located by the medieval ramparts. More parking spots are available within a 5-8 min walking distance from the flat.
