A beautiful and beautifully decorated rooftop apartment/penthouse. It would benefit from having a work space. Excellent location. Wonderful rooftop gardens. A excellent place to chill out and relax. The only concern is the access from the rooftop garden which may be a security issue. The security of the building is excellent but the hosts should address this. Other than minor concerns the stay was a very pleasant and one.

The property is in an excellent neighborhood with many restaurants and shops. The rooftop gardens are nice and probably makes it a very good place to host parties. The hosts are cordial and are willing to accommodate. However, the rent was exceedingly high (compared to the other places in the neighborhood), and the posted descriptions were misleading. The description promised breakfast, but there was no breakfast. Some may find the interior décor too ornamental, but some may like it. Plumbing and door fixtures need replacement. The small capacity geysers, the location of the bathrooms, the missing doorbell are inconveniences. The owners’ dogs show up unexpectedly on the rooftop and bark at the guests. There was no water one night apparently because the pump had to be turned on. No instructions were given. May not be a great place during the rainy season and during the summers. It will be a much better place if these concerns are addressed. Best wishes to the hosts.

I loved the terrace gardens on both sides of the residential space . The coziest nook was the blue gazebo area .. waking up to the chirping of birds was nice . There are some lovely restaurants in the area . A safe area . Sonia Ajay and Deepak have been of great help . Their house help Nandu and Lakshmi also are efficient and prompt. A lovely piece of green .

Very nice and original place lots of paintings in a vibrant neighbourhood. I was very well welcomed by Deepak, and by Sonia from abroad. I loved the bathroom glass roof, the marvellous terrasse garden and the birds singing in its plants!

My stay at Sonia's BNB has made me love Kolkata even more, and it's people! As a traveler I have seen Asia and Kolkata many times already, but this stay has been more welcoming, heart-warming and adventurous then all 5-star hotels would give you. You'll learn to experience the city and the people properly. From the first day, Sonia and Ajay (and all friends/staff) made me feel very welcome. They really possess the fine art of genuine hospitality. Such interesting and fun-loving people that have that X-factor you'll rarely encounter. The location of this upper floor apartment is fantastic, and is home to a lot of fine (coffee)bars, restaurants and parks. You'll be escaping the busy life of Kolkata by just walking 100mtrs into this neighborhood. The lush/green apartment is in great condition, has a wonderful outside terrace, and was created with attention to detail and style.
