Once a 17th Century Colour Mill in the heart of the Peak District, this self contained traditional limestone cottage in Bonsall Village is a peaceful retreat that’s in walking distance to the Country Inns and walks across Bonsall Moor. With Peak District attractions and sites on your door step a whole host of adventures await for those that love walking and exploring local areas including Cromford Village, Matlock, Bakewell and Chatsworth and even Belper, Buxton and Hartington. Colour Mill Cottage is a self contained holiday home perfect for two guests and two dogs with a living room and kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The cottage also benefits from off road parking and private secured garden with seating and a fire pit.

We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely be back! Really cosy little cottage with great location to lots of places!
Had a lovely weekend away at this property, perfect size and location for two adults and a dog to explore the Peak District. House was really clean and great to have a fully equipped kitchen, the welcome pack and extras for the dog was a lovely touch . Hosts were really responsive to our questions, would definitely recommend and stay again.
We all enjoyed our stay so much, felt like we was at home. So clean and tidy with extra add ons provided. Would definitely come back and would recommend to family and friends!!!
We had a two night stay, the cottage has a wow factor inside and out, beautiful location, tasteful decor and fully equipped kitchen, David and Louise were incredibly thoughtful, the vegan welcome basket was a lovely touch for us a we are vegan, as was the basket for the dog, so considerate, They went above and beyond to help us with any queries we had, Would definitely recommend

Bonsall Village is a 16th century village on the edge of the Peak District with two Country Inns just a 0.6 mile walk the Kings Head and Barley Mow serve heart warming home cooked food and a fine section of real ales. The Village also benefits from the Fountain Tea Rooms which provide light lunches and teas and coffees, along with the Fountain Shop for all your basic provisions. The Village is also home to the Cadcades, tranquil gardens where you can enjoy the fresh running waterfalls and even purchase small home grown plants and flowers. Cromford Village is 1 mile from Bonsall and 15 minute walk, hosting 3 pubs, a range of local shops and cafes and the quirky 3 storey ‘Scarthin Book Shop’. Matlock bath just 2 miles away hosts range of shops, arcades and pubs and is home to Heights of Abraham where you can take the cable car to up to the scenic views of Matlock bath and beyond. Heights of Abraham offer caves tours, scenic walks, a restaurant, bar, ice cream parlour and a wonderful gift and jewellery shop specialising in Blue John.
There is on site parking and further parking available further up into the village for a small fee. Bonsall Village itself is a 5 minute walk, Cromford is a 15 minute walk and Matlock Bath a 25 minute walk. Matlock is 10 minutes by car, Bakewell and Chatsworth is around a 20 minute drive and Buxton 30 minutes. There are also local buses and taxis available
