Sleeping four across two welcoming bedrooms, you’ll soon feel refreshed and ready to get out and explore the stunning countryside around you. Step out from the house onto one of the many footpaths and go for long walkies, stopping for a refreshment at the local dog-friendly pub (0. 5 miles) before heading back home. The holiday let, which comes with access to the owner’s swimming pool in the summer (by arrangement), is spacious and contemporary. The open-plan living area is bright and airy with fantastic views of the natural woodland pond, and pops of colour in the furnishings add quirky character. After a long day out walking, curl up on the country-style sofa and watch some TV, the pup snoozing at your feet. Sizzle up a BBQ on the deck in the summer months, spending long evenings outside stargazing and wildlife spotting. And when it’s time for bed, two steps up from the kitchen area, the stylish bedrooms offer a tranquil night’s sleep with calming tones; each bedroom has beautiful views outside for you to wake up to. When you’ve wandered as far as you like along the footpaths accessible from the front garden gate, head to dog-friendly Wilderness Wood (4 miles) where you can explore 62 acres of trails; children will love the bug hunting, camp building and survival activities that run throughout the year. Take a family train ride on the Bluebell Railway (9.5 miles) through stunning scenery. The mile-long Lavender Line (5.5 miles) is worth a trip too. Ashdown Forest (12.5 miles) is ideal for any Winnie the Pooh lover, where Owl and Piglet’s houses are hidden in the trees along with Pooh Bridge.
