Our place is close to village and the river Aude directly across from the house. This is a small town house with the actual apartment on the 1st level and the basement level gives access to the private walled garden. Quiet, comfortable for 4/5 people. Easy parking. In lively village, 45 minutes Carcassonne. Close to amenities (shops, bus station, restaurants). . You'll love my place because of the rugged mountains of Cathar history, water sports and hiking. The apartment is located in the town of Espéraza in Occitanie in France. At the gates: kayaking, swimming or hiking along the river and the Aude gorges (Pierre-Lys, Galamus and Saint-Georges ...). Visit the Cathar Castles (Peyrepertuse, Puilaurens, Montségur ...) and the villages and towns of Espéraza, Alet-les-Bains, Quillan and Limoux (20 min). Do water sports on the lakes of Quillan (10 minutes), Puivert (30 minutes), Montbel (50 minutes). Thermal baths: Alet les Bains (15 minutes) - small spa, swimming pool and bottled mineral water. Rennes les Bain (30 minutes) - vast thermal spa offering cures. Further afield: explore the fascinating Medieval City of Carcassonne (1h), the Cathar Country, the Canal du Midi, the abbey and the Lagrasse monastery (1h30) ... Beaches 1h30: Gruissan (picturesque citadel and a beautiful marina), Leucate (surf) Carnival and Festivals: Carnival of Limoux (Saturday, January-March), Carcassonne Festival (July), Quillan Festival (July and August - Celtic, Flamenco and Jazz), as well as many others in the towns and villages of the region. Other regional activities: skiing in the Pyrenees (1 hour), wine tasting along the wine route (corbières, maury ...), river fishing, hiking, mountain biking and horse riding. Or just enjoy the coffee culture of nearby towns, enjoy the nightlife and go shopping in the local markets!

The town of Esperaza is located just off the D118 (main road linking Albi to Perpignan), allowing easy access by car.
By bus: There is a convenient bus service (Axat) with connections to Quillan, Limoux, Carcassonne, Perpignan and Rodome.
By bike or on foot: The area has many trails for hiking in the hills and surroundings or just taking a short stroll along the river into town. There are also tracks for cycling - on or off track
By train: Espéraza station (Campagne sur Aude) is just 1.5 km from the establishment. It is a hub of the French transport network allowing travelers to reach the region around Espéraza (Aude, Occitanie). Connections can be made to other stations in Carcassonne, Perpignan and Toulouse.
If necessary, you can easily connect to other modes of road transport, including Quillan, Limoux, Pomas and Verzeille.
There are plenty of parking spaces near the house on the open space next to the village of rue des jardin and right next to the Aude river,
