自我介绍

I have been offered so much beauty and kindness in my life, so I love that this place allows me to pass it on. My own journey has included memorable stays at hostels and Airbnbs. I recall one stay in particular when I arrived late, after dark. The generous host quietly showed me to my clean, comfortable room with her 5-year-old daughter Mavis--in braids, rain boots and pajamas--in tow. I woke the next morning to the aroma of good coffee and quiet sounds coming from the other room. Still in my pajamas, I followed the sounds and came upon a grandmother rocking her 6-month-old grandson on the porch, several guests reading books, and a newlywed couple with their golden lab preparing for a hike along the North Shore---all with a majestic view of Lake Superior in the distance. For me, this was the beginnings of a perfect day as we laughed, shared favorite recipes, book titles, tips and fresh berries from my garden. We cleaned up the kitchen together, exchanged numbers, and packed up for our own adventures for the day. This is the intention of River to Ridge—waking up to community in the corridor of a peaceful space that offers the opportunity to share, learn, and seek adventure outside ourselves. Namaste.
