England's Lane is our 'local' area. Lots of shops (Tesco for groceries; Artichoke also good), cafes (best is Sable d'Or or England's Lane), pub: The Washington is fantastic and does great food too
Belsize Village is a short walk away, up past the Washington (Google-map Belsize Terrace). Lots of cafes and restaurants here too and it's lively at lunch and night. Best coffee/bagles, cakes at Roni's - geta. table in the sun in the square
Primrose Hill the park and the village are 5 minutes' away. The village has loads of shops and restaurants. Best pub is the Lansdowne. Another Roni's here. I also like Ripe for coffee/cake. And there is a hugely popular bagel shop
Primrose Hill the park is a destination. Amazing views across London from the summit
Hampstead is 20 minutes' walk: the village, the heath and the bottom of the village by the heath! A good M&S for food is here (near Hampstead Heath overground). The village is a gem – best ice cream shop is Oddono's
Regents Park is a 10 minute walk on the other side of Primrose Hill. Takes you into the West End (25 minutes to Marylebone) or via the scenic route to Camden
Regents Canal: walk along to Camden market. The entrance is just at the entrance to Regents Park on Prince Albert Road
St John's Wood: 10 mintes' walk. Another prime area for shopping, restaurants and cafes. Walk through Primrose Hill and take the exit half-way down on the right (St Edmunds Terrace). Walk in a straight line (google maps!) to St John's Wood High Street. The houses round there are just amazing too

From Heathrow airport, take the Piccadilly Line, change at King's Cross to Northern Line (Edgware branch) and get off at Chalk Farm station.
Alternatively, take the Heathrow Express to Paddington and take an Uber to the flat (3km)
Underground is the Northern Line, Edgware branch (NOT High Barnet branch)
Closest station is Chalk Farm; next closest is Belsize Park
The Jubilee Line is also 10 minutes' walk away: Swiss Cottage is the station
Overground station at Kentish Town West. Line runs East (Stratford) to west (Richmond)
