We stayed at Oliver's for one week, and it was great. We arrived in the dark, and asked for help at the police station, and found ourselves with a police escort to find the house. It was way up in the mountains, away from the busy-ness of any towns. When we arrived we were greeted by the house-keeper, Marigen, her husband, Alvin, and her mother. We were showed to our room, where we were given a comfortable double bed, and then they dished up some dinner for us. The rooms were clean, ad we had our own en-suite. The family cooked dinner for us every evening in their traditional Filipino-style kitchen. The family were amazing, they couldn't do enough for us. We rented their motorbike, for a very reasonable price, and Marigen even gave me lessons in Filipino hand-washing for my clothes. We were fully immersed into the local area, and it was a great off-the-beaten-track experience. The cultural exchange was wonderful and I'd recommend this to anybody. Next time I go to the Philippines I'll be sure to pay Marigen a visit :) Thank you! xx
